Hello. Here are a few things that I find to my liking and/or strike me as very true.
DISCLAIMER: If you believe that you may be offended because you are so
egotistical that you would think I'm talking about you in some manner in these quotes, I

Truth in Simple Quotes
"Once a cheater, always a cheater." -- Former girlfriend, after breaking
up due to what I'd done. How true this line is, unless in your heart you honestly want to
change that part of you. Only when you realize how you've destroyed so many lives and
threw away so much can you truly wish you hadn't done what you did. But then it's too
late, and the only thing you can do is to never do it again and hope those you wrecked in
the process will forgive you.
"I need to be the best man, the best man that I can." -- Queensryche, Best I Can
"End fiscal year 1986 to '87, the local, state and federal governments spent a combined total of $60.6 billion on local law enforcement. Federal law enforcement expenditures ranked last in absolute dollars, and accounted for only six percent of all federal spending. By weight of comparison, the federal government spent $24 million more on space exploration, and 43 TIMES more on national defense and international relations than on on law enforcement." -- Queensryche, monologue in "Empire".
"Good." -- Friend known as Gimpy, during a recent conversation.
"Yup." -- My reply to Gimpy.
Why is it that we take for granted the people that matter in our lives, only to to realize how important they were to us when we lose them? Is it really fair that we never get the chance to make amends and walk away on good terms?
Why does everyone feel the need to be angst-filled whenever their lives change suddenly? What good does anger ever do?
"All that glitters isn't gold, too much is overkill. Love can be
beautiful -- or the bitter pill."
-- Warrant, The Bitter Pill.
"If it's meant to be, we'll get back together in the future." -- An Ex, explaining why she needs to be with someone else for now. But is it fair to do this, only because one has feelings for another and wants to see what will happen? The sad truth is that there are a lot of relationships that end for no good reason other than boredom and there is someone else. Commonly, these are referred to as "High School relationships" because any true adult doesn't need to test the ocean, they know their little island is all they will ever need in the world.
"Hold me close, don't ever let me go. I'm confused, but maybe
someday I will know"
-- Warrant, The Bitter Pill
If the 49ers' home stadium were on the internet, would it be 3com.com? Actually, that address does exist -- as 3Com The Company's page, not 3Com The Stadium.

not to kill one another."
-- Kinetic Fourteen, quoting from Powder.

"Relationships-of all kinds-are like sand held in your hand. Held loosely, with an open hand, the sand remains where it is. The minute you close your hand and squeeze tightly to hold on, the sand trickles through your fingers. You may hold on to some of it, but most of it will be spilled. A relationship is like that. Held loosely, with respect and freedom for the other person, it is likely to remain intact. But held too tightly, too possessively, and the relationship slips away and is lost." --Kaleel Jamison

I don't want to hear any whining about this, okay?
This week, one thing disturbs me. South Park. Now, don't get me wrong; I don't disapprove of the SHOW. I disapprove of the controversy around it. This show is no worse than Beavis and Butt - Head, and is certainly not worse the NYPD Blue. Just look at it - B&B were teens who were dumber than the SP kiddies, and more immature to boot; they were pumped on hormones, raging through them - every episode mentioned their desire to get laid. And NYPD Blue has it's share of strong language, as well as an all too plentiful array of Dennis Franz's butt. Look, if anything is offensive to me, it's a his butt. I do NOT need to see that kind of stuff, and will gladly stay away. So why is South Park rated TV - MA? Easy - to boost viewers. They know that they could get away with a TV - 14 rating, easily; it's not that dirty of a show. And those stupid kids who shot up the school because one of them got dumped? They blamed their actions on South Park. South Park gave them the idea. Now, if it were me doing this, I would have at least taken a chain saw to those people, taking them all apart limb from bloody limb like they do in South Park. THEN I could blame it on the show. But if parents are so worried about it, why don't they watch their children more carefully? Do they not want their children growing up with parental influence? "I don't want my child to become a South Park junkie, using all kinds of dirty language... goodness, no, I could never not let them watch it!" Wake up, people. this show will have affects on kids, mostly around the 10 - 13 age. (look at Juniors and seniors in high school. You can tell that Beavis and Butthead had a huge impact on us. Maybe not all of us, but for some of us...) So if you don't want your kids watching this kind of show, don't let them. For the rest of us, LEAVE US ALONE SO WE CAN WATCH OUR TV!" -- Kinetic14

"The window was open, waiting for the sun to return. Even through the storms, the drenching rains, the cold the winter brought, the window remained open. As time passed, the building was abandoned, condemned, and the open window now was shut and boarded up. Now when the sun looks to get through that window it can't; the interior will remain dark and untouched forever more, never again inhabited." -- Steldistic philosophy.

"Change is inevitable -- except from vending machines." -- Late Night Thoughts, by LTH.
All through our lives we struggle to gain the identity we wish to be seen as. Sometimes it succeeds, sometimes it fails. Over time, we all gain a degree of what we wish we would be. Is it ever really possible to be exactly as you hoped? I feel the answer is yes. If you take your dreams and aspirations, persist in your efforts, you can achieve a dream come true. Most people don't have the courage and strength required, and the pitfalls that lead to the bliss overpower the less determined. Pain and heartache are part of life, and you can't reach the top until you have been at the bottom. When things look the worst, that's the time to reach -- no way to go but up. Trust instincts, if you can trust yours. When all is said and done, what can be said of life? Dreams can come true.
We are in constant search of true happiness. But no matter how hard we try, few of us ever have this bliss once we find it. While it is impossible to erase the mistakes of the past, we can use our pain to change our future. Will this assure us of happiness? No, but it's a start. Only destiny knows the future.

When life throws you lemons, throw them back. Don't accept the prize for not accomplishing what you wanted to. There is no excuse for not getting what you want. Whether it's a called bluff or an honest mistake, if you lose own up to it. No one deserves to be treated in a manner that they can't trust someone. Never drag things out longer than need be -- no one deserves that. And if a situation arises in which someone gets hurt, don't rub Tabasco sauce in the wounds -- do what needs to be done and let the other deal with it as they must. Everything in life comes around again, so let the other side do what they must, as you will know in time what it is like. See it like this -- no one gets everything they want, and if you can't compromise the problem while on decent terms, learn that the hurt deal with things that works for them. You've done enough damage; let them deal with the pain in their way. Remember -- you took actions that forced the situation; don't go overboard and tell them how to deal with their loss. I guarantee they feel terrible about the way things are. Let them be.
