You Still Love Me
This (along with "Pardon Me", "A Moment of Your Time", and "I Reach To You O Lord") were written at Chicago Congress 2001. Some of them were written at about 4-5am....others, during the dance. They are a series of poems I feel all lead into one another...kinda the whole doubting, questioning, wondering, coming full circle to realization, acceptance, peace and love. =)
How can You still love me
You see what's in my heart
I want to know You more
But I don't know where to start
At times I feel You so near
At others You're far away
I don't know where You are, as I shed my tears
Why can't I feel You so close everyday?
Sometimes I feel You and that makes me smile
Others, I can't see You and I cry out in fear
Why can't I feel Your love more than once in a while
You seem so far away, when I really need You here.
All I want to know
Is how I can find
A way to know
You in my heart and mind
I see You work through others
Using them as servants for You
Can You work through me to reach my sisters and brothers
I need You with me...this alone I cannot do
I want to feel Your love Lord
In my heart to help me grow
Show Your grace to me, O Lord
It's You I want to know
I feel a calm wash over me
And then I feel at ease
Please help me be able to trust, learn and see
Come into my heart, this I'm begging please
I want to read Your words of love
And know they apply to me
I pray for Your loving guidance from above
Help me live for YOU O Lord
And be what You want me to be.
