Wings' introduction
"I was sitting in the bar, drowning my thoughts in a bottle of wine. It was my third that evening. I was disappointed in the quality, it couldn't compare with Tidal Wave's. I was finally getting tipsy when I thought a cat walked in, of course I dismissed this quickly, but then the feline jumped onto the stool next to me and dropped two silver coins from a pouch he carried. The bar-tender walked over with an odd look about him. I guessed I wasn't seeing things when the cat put his right paw on the bar.
"'Uh..' The bar-tender stuttered. The cat only meowed.
"I remember saying, 'I think it wants something' The cat nodded.
"The bar- tender started naming off drinks that cost two silver, the cat meowed when he said 'Beer'. The bar-tender repeated the word and the cat again meowed. 'Alright then' He set a bottle on the bar and picked up the silver 'There you go, uh... sir' The cat hit the bar with his paw and looked at the bottle. 'umm, oh!' The bartender set a saucer on the bar and poured the beer into it. The cat appeared to smile before lapping up the beer. I stared at the cat as I drained my last bottle. Then it winked at me. I almost dropped the empty bottle, but I was able to catch myself.
"After one more glass of wine I left a tip and wobbled out the door, the cat followed. I tried to ignore the purring at my heals but I couldn't ignore the tugging at my cloak, the cat had bit it and was trying to pull me somewhere. 'Okay, okay, I'll follow you.' The cat lead me to the edge of the small town and then crept behind a large rock.
"'Pst, come here' I went behind the rock and the cat spoke to me, 'I want to help.'
"'Uh, help? With what?'
"'With your son, you want to find him, right?'
"'Yes! You know where he is?'
"'No, but I have an idea, you come from a powerful family, as do I. There is one in my family that does not like other powerful people, she lives to torture them. She could have sensed your son's magic and taken him'
"'What?' I was crying by now 'How could this be? I only have one magic ability, my mother had none. Why would a witch want my son?'
"'You do not know of your real father.'
"'Wait a minute, who are you? And how do you know so much?'
"'I am me!' He grinned. How a cat can make their smile into a grin, I have no idea. But this was not a normal cat.
"'That doesn't tell me much'
"I suppose my form is not appropriate, here' His fur began to shrink and his body grew till he was a twig lengths higher than me and took on an elfin form. His hair was the tarnish orange of the cats fur with red stripes in it. His eyes were large, very cat-like, and he was dressed in blue shorts with a tail behind him that wrapped around his waist like a belt. He smiled broadly 'I am Wings'
"'Wings?'
"'Yup, and I am here to help' He did a sort of old fashioned bow to me then kissed my hand, 'Your steed awaits my lady'
