1. The Beginning

Set after the events of Fight the Future, the FBI board needs evidence of alien existance or some kind of government cover up to reassign the X-Files back to Mulder and Scully.
The two get information from Skinner from a murder in Arizona of a man with his chest ripped out. Mulder thinks its the alien virus seen in the other episodes and the movie Fight the Future. The oil virus can control a person but it over time it uses the human body as a host for a baby alien to jestate. That is what happened with the man in Arizona. Mulder and Scully check the place out and they end up in a fight as Mulder seems to get tired of Scully's always doubting him.
The syndicate are still using Gibson Praise, whom we met at season 5, episode The End. He as the ability to read minds but he is taken by the Syndicate, he knows why they want him, he is the only one who can communicate with the alien that poped out of the a guy's chest in Arizona. We learn that Diana Fowley( whom we met in Season 5 The End, who has a history with Mulder and questionable intentions survives after a shot to her lung while protecting Gibson Praise)she doesn't allow Mulder and Scully to pass into a power plant, where Mulder believes the alien is right now. Scully finds Gibson in her backseat, she ask what happened and he explains how he escaped.
Scully plans to take Gibson to the hospital as the Syndicate had done some odd experiments one him. But Diana Fowley comes and tells Mulder that she can gain him entrance into the power plan. Scully doesn't trust Diana but Mulder goes willing as Scully drives Gibson to the hospital. At the hospital finds surprising evidence that Gibson has some of the black oil disease in him, but instead of controling him and incubating a baby alien it is apart of him.
Mulder and Diana go to the powerplant and they search around. Scully calls Mulder saying that Gibson has been kidnapped at the hospital. Mulder then finds the reactor room, and the man that kidnapped Gibson. Mulder can't get in and watches helplessly as the alien kills Gibson's kidnapper. Mulder than is betrayed by Diana as she says for Mulder to get away from the room.
Scully believed that Mulder was tricked by Diana but Mulder believes that Diana tried to help him. They have no solid evidence and the two are re-assigned out of the X-Files with a new boss A.D Kersh. Things between Mulder and Scully are shaky, but Scully proves herself once again to Mulder as she has evidence. The reason Gibson can read minds is because a certain gene in him has somehow been activated, but that all humans have this gene as well, though ours aren't activated. Scully then says that this could be valid proof that could even explain our existence here on earth.
