Biogenesis

A small piece of metal is found in Africa. Doctor Merkmallen goes to the place where it is originally found. Dr. Merkmallen takes another piece he has found and puts it together. The pieces then go flying in a Bible stopping at the chaper of Genesis. Merkmallen makes his way to D.C to see Doctor Sandoz, for reason we don't know. They two talk but Merkmallen then figues out that the person he was talking to wasn't the real Dr. Sandoz. In the morning the real Dr. Sandoz finds the body of Dr. Merkmallen.
Skinner briefs the agents on what happened. Though Merkmallen's body can't be found there are large amounts of blood in the office. Sandoz and Merkmallen were known for believeing in that life originated from something other than earth. Skinner somehow gets his hands on a rubbing of the piece of metal found in the Africa. Mulder then gets an episode hearing high pitch sounds and much. Scully then wonders why Mulder is pursuing these cases, the Syndicate were all burned, but Mulder still wants to find his sister.
Mulder and Scully interview Dr. Barnes, the man who posed as Dr. Sandoz from before. Scully gives Dr. Barnes the carbon rubbing and causes Mulder to have another one of his episodes. At the hosptial Dr. Sandoz is with Albert Hosteen, seen in the second season and guided Mulder. Scully meets up with someone at the FBI who was studying the rubbing , its a form of navajo but it is impossible to translate it. Scully then finds out that Dr. Barnes was known for exposing and destorying religious fraud and maybe his motive for killing Dr. Merkmallen. While the carbon rubbing is still it out, it causes another psycotic epsiode for Mulder. Mulder has a "feeling" that Dr. Barnes did kill Merkmallen.
Mulder and Scully investigate Dr. Sandoz's apartment. He is good friends with Alber Hosteen in a picture that is in his apartment, but the body of Merkmallen is found in his trash compactor. Mulder beleieves that Sandoz is innocent and it was planted on him to frame him. Mulder also believes that Sandoz as another one of the artifacts similar to the one that Merkmallen had. Scully found a rare form of radiation on Merkmallen's body and Mulder believes that it came from the artifact that is now in the hands of Dr. Barnes hands. Mulder has another "feeling" while talking to Skinner and believes that he is betraying the two. Skinner dismisses the agents and then takes out a tape from a small pephole and gave it to Krycek.
Sandoz and Scully talk. The artifact Merkmallen found wasn't his first, he found two before. He would give the rubbings to Albert Hosteen and togehter all the rubbings made the passage of Genesis which is in the Bible. Scully calls Mulder to tell him but Diana picks it up. She's at Mulder's apartment. Later she calls The Smoking Man and tells him that Mulder has been having "attacks".
Sandoz then calls Scully saying that what Hosteen translated before he became ill was genetic makeup of humans. He is then killed by Krycek. Scully is in Africa,the same place were Merkmallen. She shows one of the people there a carbon copy and they show her a giant craft stuck in the sand covered in weird symbols.
