  • Membership - Currently the required level for entry to the guild is 50 for main characters and 30 only for alternate characters. This is not to discriminate against the lower level characters, but to focus our ventures on higher leveled quest in which most all levels can participate in.
  • Joining us - If you are invited in-game you will be referred to this page to read the guilds charter and rules. You should take the time to register yourself for the Message Boards. The first two weeks are your "probationary period". During this time you must register for the guild message boards as well as conduct yourself according to the Play nice policys. There are extreme and necessary instances when a member must be removed immediately, but any and all of these will be reviewed by the guild leader and not permanent until reviewed.
  • Returning Members - Should you decide to leave the guild for any reason, you will lose your raid points gained as well as the ability to raid with the guild. If you decide you would like to rejoin the guild at a later date, your behavior and contributions toward the guild on your previous membership will be considered before you are allowed to return.
  • Chain of Command -
  • Members - Voicing your opinions on game issues is the only way to be heard, but yelling problems in guild chat is not the way to have these issues resolved. All members should take the time to ask questions on the message boards if they don't require an immediate answer. If you have a question that needs to be answered immediately, send a tell to an officer online and allow them suffiecient time to reply to you.
  • Raid / Class Leaders - During raid situations the leadership roles and rules change a little. In a raid situation you will find ALL members officers and Consul members alike doing one thing ... Listening. You can not listen while you are talking in raid chat.. you can not listen while you are running in circles near the raid area and you can not listen if you are killing mobs nearby for "Fun" while raid instructions are being given. This is not acceptable raid behavior and will not be tolerated. The raid leader / coordinator will tell all what needs to be done, what resist are needed if any and what types of pets, spells or action plans that need to be implemented. If you are asked to leave for ANY reason you will be provided the reason for this AFTER the raid has ended. It may simply be that your class is well covered or that the raiding party is full. Regardless, you should wait until after the raid to question this. Sending tells to the Guild or raid leader at this time is not a good idea nor beneficial to the raid.
  • Guild Expectations - It is most important to retain your sense of honor when grouping with any character on the server. If for some reason you are unsure of what that means they are as listed below.
  • Do not beg. Do not beg in guild chat, do not beg ooc or shouts in zones, do not beg in tells.. just do not beg. If you are so seriously in need of plat or items then ASK kindly someone of a higher level who will gladly tell you a good quest for your level that will get you platinum. From time to time the guild does purchase needed items for its members but this is done when a member needs something that will be for the good of the entire guild. (Ac gear or higher damage weapons for tanks, good armor for healers, high level drop spells). Other then the generosity of the guild bank nothing will be given to you beside drops in raids and events. Helping yourself and others is the quickest way to get the help you need from your guild.
  • No Keepers are to act in any self-serving or self-righteous manner. This includes Kill Stealing and Ninja looting. There is never a reason for either of these actions and will not be tolerated from any member of the guild. This also includes pick up groups/raids. If you put together a group to go get an epic/quest piece for yourself, you must make that intention clear to all involved when forming the group. Selfishly getting members killed so you can loot a mob is the fastest way to getting your guild tag removed.
  • Kill Stealing - Kill stealing is either intentionally or unintentionally taking the experience and loot rights to a mob whom someone else was killing or camping. This is not tolerable in any manner. Any tells from members or other players on the server about a member of Korl kill stealing will be taken seriously.
  • Ninja Looting - Ninja looting is constant or inappropriate looting. If you are looting more then anyone else, if you are looting before mobs finish dropping to the ground, if you are looting when the group is still killing other mobs and/or if you are the only one in your group who constantly has to go sell because you are extremely encumbered... please immediately log in and /guildremove as you have accidentally found yourself in an honorable guild who does not tolerate this type of behavior. It takes a group of people to kill mobs and the loot that drops should be shared in accordance with the guilds policy on looting.
  • Non Raid Loot Policy - When grouped and/or raiding all loot will be handled in a lotto manner with a need before greed consideration in mind. Most of the higher level members of KORL use a ML (Main looter) type system of looting. This means one person loots all items, with auto split off. All armor/pieces are lotto'd or nbg (need before greed) looted. Otherwise the ML will take all merchant fodder and hopefully with a charisma buff get a good price for all the junk, then return to the group to split evenly among group members.
Looting with class consideration in mind.  We want to keep in mind that while your grouping with others and nice loot is dropping there is a lot of teamwork that is put into this effort.
  • Clerics - Clerics do pay a lot for the peridots and other gems they use to buff the tank that keeps your group alive. There are some situations where all characters need these buffs. This IS very expensive and should not be the sole responsibility of the cleric to fund. In order to repay them the loot system begins here. The first 2 gems looted, short of gems that are at high demand, blue diamonds, jacinth etc. , Always go to the cleric. The same for any peridots looted no matter the order of loot or lotto'd items won previously.
  • Research - All pages, words and runes should go to the appropriate researcher in the group if they request it. You are not required to save these items to give to other guild researchers not present, but any effort made to improve a guild members skill benefits all, and is always appreciated. If the character present does not want/need the items they go to the ML pool to be sold to vendors.
  • Other Loot - You will probably see in guild chat that someone is looking for an ingredient, item or something that you may run across in your travels. Though you are not required to save these types of items for guild members, any help you offer and your attitude in helping the guild as a whole will be considered when planning epic or high loot type raids. Try to also keep in mind class restrictions. Monks for instance have a weight restriction and can carry light loot only. Just an idea but consider giving them the second set of gems as they weigh little and sell well. Any members looking for farming items should post on the forums under farming  to make others aware of their needs.
  • Raiding Rules - Before during and after any epic or collaborated raids you should listen to all that the Raid Master is saying in guildchat or the raid channel. Keep up! On an aggressive raid and when epic spawns are closely watched we must get there as soon as possible. If you are afk when the Raid Master shouts OTM you are probably going to get left behind. On Epic raids the first priority is to see that the epic quester is protected and rezzed first and foremost. There may be downtime where people can catch up with the group and/or rezz and return to the group but in the event there is not, those things will be taken care of after the raid is over. Limit talk in raid or channel to minimal and only needed conversation relating to the raid. Take the rest to tells.
All members are required to keep a "raid pack" on them or in the bank at all times and have it on them when they arrive at a raid, otm or planned. All members joining a raid with KoRL are required to have the following items with them at the time they join the raiding party. If you bring a "guest" to the raid they must have the raid supplies on their person. You are welcome to purchase them but its imperative each person has their own supplies in their inventory. All guest must be pre-approved by the raid coordinator.
  • Raid Supplies - All should have plat for at least one coffin it IS best to leave this in the bank to carry back to the zone you need to be in for summon. If you are rezzed give the coffin to the necro or Sk who summoned your body. (150ish PP)
All should try to carry on them at all times 20 peridots, 20 pearls, 20 small portal fragments, 20 fish scales, 20 batwings, 1 or 2 invis potions if you cant invis yourself, 1 gate potion. In the bank you should keep fishscales, batwings and an invis potion.
This is what is required to cast symbol, call of the hero, enduring breath, levitate once on a 3 group raid.
These supplies are for emergencies, we have to rebuff a lot more than expected and the clerics run out of dots.
  • Raid Behavior - When a raid is planned or set as OTM in the guild motd please move as quickly to the raiding area as possible. Once you have arrived you should turn on your /lfg and wait, with patience, to be invited to your group. Do not run around the area. Do not kill mobs unless they agro you. Do not spam the raid channel with non-raid chatter. Use guild chat or tells for anything that does not directly relate to the raid/issues at hand. Once you are invited to your group you should gather near your groups leader and wait for buffs. If you are running around or doing something you should not be at this time and miss your buffs that will be your problem. Do not spam the raid channel with what buffs you are missing because you could not follow directions. There is also NEVER a reason to pass the main tank or puller on a raid. If you are not specifically told to do so then doing so can result in your removal from the raid. Your raid behavior is important to the well being of all the characters on the raid. If your inability to follow rules causes a wipe or senseless losses you may be told by the raid leader to not attend the next raid or review this charter again before doing so. As for how the rest of the guild handles it, you are on your own. Never send the raid/guild Leader a tell during a raid. If you have an important issue that needs to be addressed and is DIRECTLY related to the raid please send a tell to an Officer in attendance that is NOT the raid nor guild leader.

  • Raid Point System - The raid point system is fully implemented and is a system I derived from several systems I have seen used for guild raid points. At this time we are mainly building points and raid hours but can and will use the points to buy gear on raids or guild activities present and future. For now, before any loot farming raids, the decision to lotto or use raid points will be determined by the guilds officers before a raid and the raiders will be made aware of this. Raid points are earned as follows:

1 point for arriving to a planned raid on time or an OTM raid within 15 minutes.

1 points for raid attendance.

1 point for staying the duration of the raid.

1 Additional point if the raid is for a members epic.

1 Additional point per hour the raid last over 4.

There will be a string on the message boards that keeps an updated list of raid points per character. If you have alts in the guild with raid points your points will all be kept on one character at your request or added to whichever character is attending the raid. This does mean you will have many points on your main but also means you have more then one toon to gear up. So think wisely.

  • Epics and Guild Support -  At this time support for raiding with a raid party to kill epic mobs are as follows. No members will receive full guild support for epic quester under level 55. This is to encourage our members to level as most epics are not worth as much as a level 55 character. You also must have 21 raiding points to receive large group support. Should you meet these requirements, your next step is to go to the boards and post for help needed and when you will be on and available to kill the needed mobs. If the mob is a rare spawn or a PH mob then please make the raid/guild leader aware of the fact you are tracking it for your epic. You Must track your own mobs if at all possible. Even a low level ranger/druid can stand safely at a LOT of zone ins and track for a mob. The only exception to any of the above epic support rules are Clerics. Clerics can pursue their epics once reaching level 51 but still must have a minimum of 21 raid points for guild/group support.

  • Your guild members may be available to group with you anytime you play and you are as always welcome to get a group together at anytime to attempt to kill any mob you feel you can, but official guild raids and epic's are planned ahead of time using the message board as a forum to communicate the needs for the raid.

  • Guild Alliances and Support - An update of current alliances will be kept on the message boards under that thread. KoRL focuses their support on KoRL members, but this game does require us to rely on the help and support of friends or other guilds from time to time. KoRL members are not required to attend a raid for a member outside of their own guild but are invited to and awarded raid points on the same system as listed above for epic or raid encounter mobs. Any guilds or members who attend a raid or request help from KoRL should expect to have to follow the same guidelines listed in this charter. For more information read the contacts section of this site.
