Residents of a small community had to drive miles to fill up their vehicles with gasoline, and by the time they returned home it was time to fill up their vehicle again. This got unbearable, and citizens petitioned the city council for some sort of remedy. The council got the idea to purchase a gas pump and to setup a filling station in town. Everybody liked this idea. When a gas pump was bought, a city wide holiday was declared and the new pump was paraded about town.

Everybody was excited about the new gas pump, and even held picnics around it. Babies were named for it. But in all the excitement, they forgot to get gas for the pump.

Next council meeting will have getting the gas as the top item.
