forget what I said in the My Drums, I'll do this anyway:

The Best:

  • Drums/ Hardware: Tama, any drums; the best is Starclassic, the lowest is Swingstar.
  • Cymbals: Zildjian, all, especially A and Z- series (ZXT? maybe).
  • Drum Heads: Remo Pinstripe heads for drumset.
  • Sticks: A-Head Lars Ulrich signature, or any other model for drumming to Metal, Vic Firth Dave Weckl signature sticks for jazz, Vic Firth Corpmaster Ron Spagnardi signature sticks for snare drum.
  • Other: Tama Iron Cobra Power Glide Single or Twin pedals (as long as you have an Iron Cobra on each foot) and Iron Cobra hi hat stands (it doesn't matter which), Casecore coffin case stick bag (the hard one), TAMA Rhythm Watch metronome (although it costs a lot).

* For bass drum, get the Remo Pinstripe head with an impact pad. Mine is Evans, but it wears out quick. It comes with one for single bass drumming, but for double bass, you need to but a different one (try to find a Remo). Also, get rubber beaters for the Iron Cobras for a low controlled sound, and for a slapping sound on the bass drum, stay with the felt ones. As long as you tune it good; I use TAMA tuning watch.
