One Year Later

Well, well.  One year later.  Instead of just updating the whole site, I figured I’d do this to see for myself just how much has changed in one year.  Well, it’s been a whole lot more than I had imagined.  Here goes.

The gorgeous guy in the picture up there is my amazing boyfriend, Andy.  And the beautiful baby girl is our daughter, Aloura Desiree`.

She was born February 17th, 2003 during the worst snowstorm of the year (so far).  She made the newspaper and is known as “The Snow Baby.”  Andy is an amazing boyfriend and father.  He is so wonderful with Aloura.  He feeds her, changes her, plays with her, everything!  He is her favorite person and she is his.  They’re the best things that could ever have happened to me.  I’m so lucky and grateful to have them.

I’m no longer such a SlipKnoT freak.  Aloura likes SlipKnoT, though.  I still love the band, but I don’t obsess over them.  All my piercings are out, too, except for my bellyring.  The tattoos aren’t going anywhere, though.

I have a good job and I make good money.  I finally got my license (hey, third times a charm).  I’m looking into schools for Web Page Design, because they’re in demand and they get paid $150,000 a year.  I could use me some of that.  And, I don’t know, considering the fact that I learned to create websites by myself, I think that I’ll get somewhere if I go to school for it and actually learn how to do more things.

A lot of things have changed, some slightly (like my appearance), some drastically (like my life).  Things went from good, to bad, to good, to worse than ever and then, all of a sudden, everything is amazingly wonderful.  I’m working hard to keep it this way, but I’m realizing that I don’t really have to work at all.  I’m just a lucky girl with a great guy, and a beautiful daughter.  And even though things do get tough every so often, I realize how lucky I am to have what I have, and then things just get better.  I’m liking this.

I’m starting a Chapter in my community for Project Linus.  It’s a charity organization that donates handmade blankets to little kids who are either homeless, victims of abuse, sick/dying, etc.  If you would like information about Project Linus, go to www.projectlinus.org.  Or you can e-mail me at mommy_217@hotmail.com.  It’s a great organization and I’m very proud to be a part of it.  And speaking of chapters, I kept a journal all throughout my pregnancy.  I would just sit and write in it if I was bored, or mad, etc.  I’m gonna organize it and try to get it published.  It can be something for teen mommys and mommys-to-be, to read and ease their minds about things.  It’ll prolly suck, but oh well, it’s worth a shot.  Well, it’s been fun and all, but I have to get back to work.  I’ll be sure to add more pics of the baby and write in here.  And if anyone ever has a question or just wants to talk, definitely e-mail me.  Just no hate mail.
