That's Brandon. He's happy.
Brandon: Brandon takes the double-sized room next to mine, but lives in
it alone (cursed deals spun by Tim!). He's a 5th year computer science major
working towards a Masters, as well as drum major (sort of like a conductor, I
think) for marching band. A lot of his remaining time goes to church efforts.
He's a devout Christian, but he's still logical about it. It's led to some decent,
and long, discussions about religion and life in general. It's sort of fun to pit
our two belief systems against each other and see how we've developed our world
views as a result. He, for example, is against genetic engineering on the grounds
that it goes against God's will, whereas I'm always in favor of improving foods
and such since I don't think life was crafted. Interesting conversations.
This is the guy who, my first year, stored all his stuff in my room and later
held all of my stuff in his room. Neat the way that all worked out.
Of course This wouldn't be complete without referencing Smash Brothers. When we
play the original N64 version, it's on his N64 he brought up (The Gamecube one
we play on mine). So, as that might imply, he's pretty good at it. In fact, he's
just about the only one who gives me a consistent challenge. Actually, the
distribution of wins is almost entirely determined by how much of a certain
random factor we allow. If we turn off the thing that makes random items fall,
I tend to win consistently (one night we did 13 matches like this; I won 12).
But as the random factor is increased, the wins balance out, and with a lot of
random stuff he usually gets the edge. So when he plays I at least have something
I have to work around.
