 3.6.02
Our first student interview will be with Kristie Hansen. She is a Junior in Mr. Gracey's 3rd Hour U.S. History class. She spends most of her time in that class trying to keep Samantha Driver in line, though sometimes that is not easy. Kristie caused quite a stir two weeks ago when she became the first person to actually sign the guestbook on Mr. Gracey's now famous Way Cool Website. So here it is-the much awaited interview with one of JCHS's finest:

Mr. Gracey: So Kristie, what was it like to be the first person to log onto Mr. Gracey's Way Cool website? Describe the experience.

Kristie: It was a great experience. I wish everyone could have had the experience I did. I felt very honored. That will always be something that I will never forget. I will remember it as "The day I was the first to sign Mr. Gracey's Website."

Mr. Gracey: What is your favorite musician / CD?

Kristie: I listen to a very wide variety of music. But I guess my favorite music group of all time would have to be Aerosmith! I love their music. Steven Tyler is one hot old guy!

Mr. Gracey: What is your favorite restaurant?

Kristie: I love The Rainforest Café. I went to one in Washington D.C. about 3 years ago and I loved it. But I guess around here my favorite would have to be Apple Bee's.

Mr. Gracey: Baby back ribs?

Kristie: Oh yeah! I can't get enough of those babyback ribs. Yummy!

Mr. Gracey: What is your favorite movie of all time?

Kristie: My favorite movie of all time that I can never get sick of is The Wizard of Oz. I have loved that movie for as long as I can remember. I even have my own pair of Ruby slippers and a pet flying monkey. Of course, I'm also a big fan of any movie that has to do with history. I love history so much! It has really changed my life.

Mr. Gracey: What kind of car do you drive?

Kristie: I drive a 95 White Chevy Blazer; License plate "UGOGRL".

Mr. Gracey: Do you work right now? If so, where?

Kristie: Yes, I work at Sinclair's Food Mart in Jerseyville. My favorite part about my job is testing to see if the milk is spoiled. I also enjoy juggling the produce, particularly the grapefruits. They make funny noises when they hit the floor.

Mr. Gracey: What has been your favorite part about U.S. History so far?

Kristie: Well, my favorite part has been joking around with Mr. Gracey about his women problems and his baldhead. My favorite part of actually learning was The Progressive Era. But I also like how Mr. Gracey makes learning about History fun. This is the first History class I actually don't dread coming to and I like learning about our Country's history. He teaches in a way that I know I will remember it! Its also very handy to check my makeup in Mr. Gracey's shiny head; no mirror needed. It's great!

Mr. Gracey: If the Buffalo Soldiers fought the Rough Riders, who do you think would win?

Kristie: I don't know; that would be a close call. The Buffalo soldiers had experience with fighting because they fought the Indians out west. Although, I think the Rough Rider's would win because they had all of the newest guns and technology that their time, but they didn't have a lot of fighting experience.

Mr. Gracey: What advice do you have for all of our future web surfers?

Kristie: I would advice future web surfers to appreciate this website and tell all of their friends.

Mr. Gracey: What do you plan on doing after High School?

Kristie: I plan on going to a four-year college, hopefully Carbondale or ISU, and majoring in Psychology. I'm particularly interested in ISU because that's where Mr. Gracey went. To be honest, he's my hero. I try to emulate him in every way possible…except of course the fact that he can never get a date.

Mr. Gracey: What are some of your hobbies?

Kristie: I like going on walks, rollerblading, shopping, talking on the phone, hanging out with my friends & giving Mr. Gracey advice on women…he needs it.

Mr. Gracey: What do you think of my new hairdo?

Kristie: I think it is a great change. I really think you will get a woman now!! It is just a matter of time.
