Kikyo Resurrected
Kikyo was resurrected by the witch Urasue using her bones, ashes and soil from her grave and she also tried to steal back Kikyo's soul from Kagome because she is Kikyo's reincarnated soul. Kikyo managed to keep a part of it to stay alive but Kagome reclaims most of it. To stay alive in her new form Kikyo uses snake/dragon like soul-stealer demons to take the souls of recently dead young girls using them to keep her animated.
Kikyo and Inuyasha
Kikyo and Inuyasha fell in love 50 years ago and they had planned to use the Shikon jewel to turn Inuyasha into a full human so that they could be together and she could be free from her life long job of protecting the jewel and just be a normal woman, but due to the scheming of shapeshifting Onigumo/Naraku they were tricked Kikyo believed that
Inuyasha had attacked her and stole the jewel from her, and Inuyasha believed that she had attacked him so he went to the temple to try and steal the jewel to become a full demon. Unfortunatley this all caused Kikyo to pin
Inuyasha to a tree near the temple with her arrow casting a spell on him that put him in some sort of stasis like state, and then she dies soon after from the wound inflicted by the disguised Naraku.
