LexDDR:Introduction

What is DDR?

DDR stands for Dance Dance Revolution. Dance Dance Revolution is a beat game where unlike most video games you need the skills of beat,rhythm and your feet. There is 4 arrows left,right,up,down and the object of the game is to hit the arrows as they go up this screen with your beat. Sound easy?

How do you play?

This is where it gets alittle bit confusing. First you put in a certain number of tokens (depending on the location) then you get a certain number of songs you can play (depending if you pass the song and/or the location). You pick a difficulty based upon your skill level of the game and your choices are: beginner,light,standard,heavy (varies on certain mixes). To make it easier on you think of it like this:

Beginner=Beginner

Light= Easy

Standard=Normal

Heavy=Hard

Now that you know the difficulties and the payment situation lets explain the game. The game isnt really like any other game. You stand on the machine pads, you then pick your song. The screen will display a set of 4 arrows left,up, down, right. You have to hit the arrows with your feet upon them contacting the ones on the top of the screen. Most songs will have the arrows hit to a certain beat that flows with the song but be warned some do not.(exp: gradusic cyber, leading cyber, least 100 sec etc.)

What is the handle bar for?

The bar is simply for songs that are so difficult that it requires you to hold onto the bar in order to move your feet fast enough. Some use the bar because they are tired also.

What are feet in ddr?

The feet in DDR represent the difficulty of each song. Like say you picked a light song and it had 4 feet that would mean it was 4 out 10 difficulty. The song's feet depend on the difficulty setting you are currently on and which song you play. If you play a song like ButterFly on light then the feet will be a low number but say you pick maxx unlimited on heavy, that would be a 10. And if a Song is a flashing 10 that means it is extra hard.

What are Mods?

Mods are Modifiers for gameplay. Modifiers can be used to either enhance the difficulty of the song or make it easier. You have things like speed mods which are used to adjust the speed of a song making the notes come up the screen faster. Some things can be used as help for some like you can choose whether you want holds on or off. You can put arrows on certain styles like flat,solo,sudden,hidden,or regular visible.
