MK Ultra is the only song not done digitally on the first recording. It was recorded onto a stereo VCR (the tape survived the fire in 1998) using the Squip Box (an electronic device built by Jeff Rouze & Eric Strobel) running through a Yamaha EMP100 effects processor and a Super Tone Control (one of the projects listed in Craig Anderton's Electronic Projects for Musicians). The Squip Box didn't survive the illegal fire of '98, but the schematics for it did. It is hoped that one day it will again be rebuilt. It was essentially a homemade synthesizer made from a frequency generator.
The preacher in the beginning is of course John Hagee from Cornerstone Church in San Antonio. The question would be played for the various subjects in the MK Ultra experiment while their reactions were carefully recorded and studied for further use by a clandestine behavior control group formed by sadistic control freaks with major untreated OCD issues.

What is Moonlight Lawn about?
It's about a man in an insane asylum who falls in love with a girl who foams at the mouth. But instead of biting, she keeps kissing him, then runs away and hides behind a large telephone with lights on it. When the lights on the phone come on, she runs out and looks for someone to kiss, mouth dripping large gobs of foam as she runs the halls looking for her next victim. There's a box with one button on it that makes the phone light up. The man keeps finding the box and pushing the button. After she kisses him, she grabs the box and tries to hide it somewhere so he won't find it again. But eventually he finds it. This section of the ward is unsupervised since the patients have been deemed no harm to themselves or others since the only thing that made them crazy is love.

LYRICS
Moonlight Lawn

Every time I think about her foaming, light the phone
Even though my wink devout her roaming might intone
Her lithe mind is over mine
Lie unseen unshod with wine
Ever holding life above the scalding mitre phone

All is short of scaly in the golden light of dawn
Memorize her sailing with an open crest unknown
Starlight blazing lime and mauve
Our sight razing time so love
Creek and stack the water on the folded moonlight lawn
Shriek and crack the water on the scolded lunar faun

The League Lantern

Sail into say when yesterday the waters grew up high
Four days of dark there was no spark to lead away the blind
Tailor the seas 'round carven caves to nighted porpoise cries
Taken away the winds of strange to bleed another lie

When the moon had never shown for days without a need
Something else was needed that would luminate the sea
Hours patience paid the end to compromise a track
A light which only showed the front and never once looked back

Long at the university the hour drew down long
Careful to meld the light handheld into a leaping fray
Cautious to spend the very end of everything he made
The lantern was crafted at the Plant of Metal Radiate
Sold to the Silver Servant of the Sarrangassi Sea
The lantern shown for leagues untold and multiplied six and three
