Welcome to the gates of hell
This site is dedicated to the many urban legends which surround
the town of Antioch, California as well as the old mining camps of
Sommersville, Nortonville and the old Rose Hill Cemetery.
I am particularly interested in the legends and history of Empire Mine Road.
Specifically the old slaughterhouse, gravity hill and the gates of hell.
Email me your ghost stories, be they first hand or urban legend,
and I will post them on the following pages
under the appropriate heading.
I am hoping to make a trip out there soon to take some pictures,
when I do, I will post them on a pictures page.
I will be turning the stories in to author, J. M. O'Shaughnessy.
Currently, she is working on the follow-up to her first novella, Summersville.
She hopes to weave her story around the legends of Empire Mine road.
