Below is an actual witness account of a UFO sighting.
| At exactly 7pm (I checked at the
time) on New Years Eve (1993), I was at my parents house in Auldhouse,
E.Kilbride. It was a very cold, dark, and still evening. The sky was Jet
black, frost was beginning to form on the ground and the stars were out
in force in what was largely a cloudless sky. I was about to go out for a walk, leaving by the houses' back door which faces North East, when I noticed a very bright light in the sky. The light was pure white, moving very fast in a southerly or south easterly direction from my left to my right at an elevation of around 30 degrees up from horizontal. The light had a long white vapour trail behind it, tailing off for some distance. The night was very calm, and dead silent, but there was no sound whatsoever from the object as it moved. It travelled in a very straight line, and was in view for around 30 seconds as it crossed the night sky. Unlike shooting stars which I've witnessed several times (and which usually arc slightly and die out after a second or so). A Neighbour also saw this light, and mentioned that they'd never seen anything like it before. The light did not look like an aircraft light. There were no visible flashing lights or anything, and the intensity of the light was still strong even at the point where the light was apparently moving away from view. (As opposed to aircraft landing lights which are bright when approaching the subject but almost invisible when moving away). The most striking things were the intensity and clean bright "whiteness" of the light, the long and very straight white vapour trail, and the eerie silence which was apparent from 1st sight until well after it had gone from view. |
