The Best of Buffy

Roy: Okay, here we have a collaboration of me and Eevee’s favourite moments on Buffy, which believe me, will be long as we’re going through all seven seasons of Buffy here. It will keep getting updated as I haven’t yet got Season 7 on DVD so I can’t look back on it… *sighs* Christmas, please hurry up! On second thoughts don’t ‘cause after that we’ll have to take GCSE Options… AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! Also my Uncle is currently borrowing Season 1 so I can’t look back on that either… Oh well. Just settle for what we’ve got for now and while we’re waiting you could be nice people and send in your own favourite moments by emailing us. I’m free_tree@moose-mail.com and Eevee’s dovesista@btopenworld.com…

Roy’s Fave moments!

Season 1

Favourite Episode: The Puppet Show! This was so funky! I loved Sid! I always was a sucker for freaky ventriloquist dummies…

Fave line from this Ep: Principal Snyder: "I know Principal Flutie would have said, 'Kids need understanding. Kids are human beings.' That's the kind of wooly-headed liberal thinking that leads to being eaten."

Freakiest Episode: Nightmares. This was disturbing… mostly when the evil and possessed clown was chasing Xander *shivers*.

Sweetest Moment: Probably the Prophecy Girl Speech… It was just good.

Best Moment: When Buff killed the master! I loved her final line on that one. “He’s not going anywhere. Loser.” So simple, yet so great.

Season 2

Favourite Episode: Passion! This was so great! And so moving… and sad… just bloody good basically covers it.

Fave line from this Ep: Angel: "It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion, maybe we'd know some kind of peace. But we would be hollow. Empty rooms, shuttered and dark. Without passion, we'd be truly dead."

Freakiest Episode: Bad Eggs. *shivers* There’s something about those freaky deaky bug creatures that just makes my skin crawl, and then I have to check my back to make sure one hasn’t attached itself to me… One things for sure…I will never agree to doing that “looking after an egg” assignment.

Funniest Episode: Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered. There’s something hilariously worrying about every girl in Sunnydale being hopelessly in love with Xander.

Most heartbreaking episode: Other than Passion, I have to say I Only Have Eyes for You. When Buffy and Angel are acting out that scene between the two lovers… oh my God, it’s recycled Kleenex time again.

Most interesting Episode: The Dark Age Very interesting learning about Giles’ dark and mysterious past… And also disturbing…

Best Entrance: Spike, School Hard.

Best Baddies: No denying, Spike and Dru. The best.

Funniest Couple: I think we can all agree on Xander and Cordelia.

Sweetest Couple: Willow and Oz. Love it how for every time Oz sees Willow before he meets her properly, he has that line; “Who is that girl?

Best Newbie: Either Oz or Spike, even though Kendra is also cool…

Best Moment: It’s gotta be when Spike’s attacking Buffy, in School Hard and he’s so close to killing her… and then Joyce thwacks him over the head with a fire axe! “You get the hell away from my daughter!” Oh my God, that was bloody great!

Saddest Moment: When Giles climbs the stairs thinking he’s in for a night of passion with Jenny Calendar, only to find he’s actually in for a night of police questioning-Angel left her dead body on his bed, Passion. (*Sobs* Oh my God! So so so so sad!!!)

Most heartbreaking moment: (other than in Passion) Has to be when Buffy’s about to kill Angel in Becoming, Part 2.

Angel: "What's happening?"

Buffy: "Shh. Don't worry about it. I love you."

Angel: "I love you.

Buffy: "Close your eyes.

(stabs him with the sword) Funniest Moment: When Joyce and Spike are in the living room in Becoming, part 2 and they have that little conversation:

(Sitting in awkward silence) Joyce: “Have we met?

Spike: “Um… you hit me with an axe one time. Remember? (axe-holding gesture) Uh… “Get the hell away from my daughter…” (shuts up)

Joyce: “Oh”(chuckles).

Spike: (Sighs)

I think Joyce and Spike have some kind of chemistry…

Season 3

Favourite Episode: Oooooo… tough one. This season was very good. I’d have to say Lover’s Walk or Graduation Day, Part 1. With all these great storylines, how’s a he/she s’posed to choose?

Fave lines from these Eps: Spike: "You're not friends. You'll never be friends. You'll be in love 'til it kills you both. You'll fight, and you'll shag, and you'll hate each other 'til it makes you quiver, but you'll never be friends. Love isn't brains, children, it's blood. Blood screaming inside you to work its will. I may be love's bitch, but at least I'm man enough to admit it.", Lover’s Walk

Joyce: "You know, Buffy, looking back at everything that's happened, maybe I should have sent you to a different school." Graduation Day, Part 1You know, I just don’t think “duh…” cuts it, here.

Freakiest Episode: Gingerbread This wasn’t so freaky as in the traditional freaky of the Buffyverse, but more the whole idea of the reliving of the Witch Trials thing, with the family and friends turning against you… that stuff always makes me shudder.

Funniest Episode: There is absolutely no doubt in my mind which episode wins this… Band Candy! Hilariously brilliant and just plain COOOOOOOOOOOL! And the highlight of this episode has to be the immortal words of Principal Snyder, truly mastering the finesse of the English language: “Ah! Summers! Ya drive like a spaz!!!!” You just have to listen to him say that line! Just cracks me up every time. Also, seeing Giles and Joyce getting all steamy and teenagerish is great. An entertainingly disturbing thing to know that they had sex on the roof of a police car. Giles is very cool, even so… Makes me wonder what my parents would be like if they were to revert back to their teenage years…*shudders*…

Saddest Episode: Lover’s Walk. I know I said that this was one of the best episodes already, but this has to be the saddest as well. But if you want to be nice and include another…erm… probably Amends. Most heartbreaking episode: The Prom

Best line from this Ep: I know I had this up as most heartbreaking episode, but I had to add this in because it is absolutely brilliant!…Or at least I think so… but then I have a strange sense of humour…

Giles (Talking to Wesley about Cordelia): “ For God’s sake man, she’s eighteen. And you have the emotional maturity of a blueberry scone. Just have at it, would you? And stop fluttering about.”…He he he…

Most interesting Episode/s: I’d have to say it’s a draw between The Wish and Amends. The Wish ‘cause it was interesting to see how things would’ve turned out without Buffy… and of course Anya turned up, who frankly rocks. Amends because we get a sneaky glimpse at the First…*shudders*…freaky…

Best Entrance: Spike, Lover’s Walk Loved what they did with the whole reversal of the School Hard entrance.

Best Baddies: Have to say it’s a draw between the Mayor (Great! Part of you likes him even though he’s evil…common in the Buffyverse, I know) and how could anyone forget Dominatrix Willow *shudders*…

Funniest Couple: It was only for a moment, but I’d have to say Xander and Faith… I think Xander in coupledom always equals funny!…Oh and the beginnings of the Xander and Anya relationship. ^_^

Anya: "Look, I know you find me attractive; I've seen you looking at my breasts."

Xander: "Nothing personal, but when a guy does that, it just means his eyes are open."

Sweetest Couple: Buffy and Angel… while it lasted…

Best Newbie: FAITH!!!! She rocks, dude!!!

Saddest moment: When Oz and Cordelia walk in on Willow and Xander kissing in Lover’s Walk. And then Cordelia runs of and falls through the stairs thus impaling herself… WAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

Most heartbreaking moment: When Buffy and Angel break up in The Prom. I definitely prefer Spike to Angel … he’s so much cooler… but Angel and Buffy are so clearly meant to be together. And it’s so sad seeing Buffy so heartbroken! Somebody pass me a recycled Kleenex! :-( Buffy: “No, if you have something to say, say it. Angel, drop the cryptic, you're scaring me.

Angel: “I've been thinking... about our future. And the more I do, the more I feel like us — you and me — being together is unfair to you.

Buffy: “ Is this about what the Mayor said? Because he was just trying to shake us up.

Angel: “He was right.

Buffy: “No. No, he wasn't. He's the bad guy.

Angel: “You deserve more. You deserve something outside of demons and darkness. You should be with someone who can take you into the light. Someone who can make love to you.

Buffy: “I don't care about that.” Angel: “You will. And children.

Buffy: “Children? Can you say jumping the gun. I killed my goldfish.

Angel: “ Today. But you have no idea how fast it goes, Buffy. Before you know it, you'll want it all. A normal life.

Buffy: “I'll never have a normal life.

Angel: “Right. You'll always be the Slayer. But that's all the more reason why you should have a real relationship instead of this- this freakshow. I didn't mean that.

Buffy: “I wanna go.

Angel: “I'm sorry. Buffy... you know how much I love you. It kills me to say this.

Buffy: “Then don't. Who are you to tell me what's right for me? You think I haven't thought about this.

Angel: “Have you? Rationally?

Buffy: “No. Of course not. I'm just some swooning little school girl, right?

Angel: “I'm trying to do what's right here. I'm trying to think with my head instead of my heart.

Buffy: “Heart? You have a heart? It isn't even beating.

Angel: “Don't.

Buffy: “Don't what? Don't love you? I'm sorry. You know what? I didn't know that I got a choice in that. I'm never gonna change. I can't change. I want my life to be with you.

Angel: “I don't.

Buffy: “You don't want to be with me? I can't believe you're breaking up with me.

Angel: “It doesn't mean that I don't...

Buffy: “How am I supposed to stay away from you?

Angel: “I'm leaving. After the Ascension. After it's finished with the Mayor and Faith. If we survive, I'll go.

Buffy: “Where?

Angel: “I don't know.

Buffy: “Is this really happening?

Funniest Moment: Okay, I know I’ve mentioned this before but the is the funniest moment for me! When the scoobies and Snyder get in the car in Band Candy, Buffy drives off (in an extremely unsafe way) and Snyder speaks those immortal words! Snyder: “Ah! Summers! Ya drive like a spaz!!!

Best Moment: In Graduation Day, Part 2 when the whole school kicks butt in the showdown that eventually beats the Mayor (…well, blows him up, to be precise.) It’s also entertaining…but sad, to say goodbye to Principal Snyder, as in true Sunnydale Principal tradition, he get’s eaten. The whole fight scene has to be the best moment of the season.

Oz: "Guys. Take a moment to deal with all this. We survived."

Buffy: "It was a hell of a battle."

Oz: "Not the battle. High school."

To be continued...
