My New Ride!

Here's my latest toy, my coveted Contour SVT. It's a '98-model, and I bought it February 12, 2005 from a guy in Kansas. It was in sad shape; a bent rear left strut, one rim bent beyond repair with a little doughnut tire in its place, a leaky headlight that was full of water, a piece of a side-skirt missing, and many other little things. Once I got it home, I got the strut replaced, go it aligned, slapped my 18" Konig Theories on it, fixed and painted the broken side-skirt piece, replaced the headlight, gave it a good interior work-over with Armor-All spray, and after a little more TLC it was good to roll. Check it out!

The audio system consists of a 180-watt Panasonic CQ-DF402U head unit (shown above) that powers four Infinity Kappa series 6x8's in the doors. In the trunk are two 12" Kicker Comp subs in a plexiglass front bandpass box with a red neon light bar. These are powered by a Power Acoustics Gothic Series 540watt 2-channel amplifier.

The windows are limo'ed to 5% tint all around. Legal? I doubt it. But it looks nice.

The only engine mod right now is a K&N Cold-Air Intake. I plan to throw in a Hi-Flow Magnaflow aftermarket catalytic converter and a full Borla exhaust system soon. A custom-programmed DiabloSport speed chip is in on the horizon, too.

The rims are 18" Konig Theories wrapped in Sumitomo rubber.

Summer Sunshine

Here's a pic of my crown jewel during the summertime.

The Front

I like the front fascia, it sits low and wide, and sorta reminds me of some sort of a hovercraft if you ignore the wheels. Or maybe I've just played too many video games.

Front Driver-Side Shot

A shot from the driver-side.

Front Passenger-Side Shot

A shot from the passenger-side.

Side Shot

I like the side-skirts, but I wanna modify the front fascia with a more aggressive-looking Mirko front splitter later this summer. **Update as of December 16th: Ordered front splitter. Having it installed and painted soon.

The Inside

Here's a shot from the back seat. Damn that tint is dark. And I love the blue atmosphere inside, almost like being underwater or something. I also like the white sport gauge faces, and the aluminum non-skid pedals. The 5-speed transmission feels crisp and firm. This is an old pic, and does not reflect the new head unit.

Interior Side Shot

All leather. And comfy. The back seat feels like a poofy leather couch, while the front seats are a bit more firm and supportive. Perfect condition.
