In truth, i've only known you
For a little over a year,
But you're still the one
Who can calm all my fears.
You remind me of simplicity,
Once lost in my life;
And when the tunnel gets dark,
You're there with a light.
You can change my mood,
You can make me smile,
And steal my heart
All the while.
The only thing not simple
BEtween you and me
Is a roller-coaster relationship,
Complete with partly-shattered dreams.
I know it's mostly my fault,
And I will take the blame.
I just don't want the approaching years
To wind up all the same.
I want to apologize
For the wrong that I've done,
And to escape further heartache,
The lines need to be drawn.
If we're just going to be friends,
We need to stick to that,
And if we want to (again) try more
It will take all we have.
We need to sit and talk
So we know where we are;
It hurts too much
To play games with the heart.
