"Objectivity" - "Individualism" - "Ayn Rand" - "The Libertarian Party" - familiar with any of these things? If not - good for you - if so read carefully - this is a warning. Rand's "Philosophy" (which no Philosopher anywhere claims is an actual philosophy - unless they are hacks) - is basically based on the old Nazi ideology of "Social Darwinism" but with an even heavier leaning toward the all-importance of the individual (over society and other people) to the point sociopathic nihilism and "Objectivity" the idea that everything Rand says is objective - therefore true and unquestionable - despite the fact it is all irrational non-sense.
1) Objectivism is not objective - even scientific
2) The Ayn Rand "morality" is amoral:
Kant's Categorical Imperative - whatever you do (as far as ethics is concerned) all society should be able to do the same and yet survive (sounds similar - and is a little like - the golden rule of Christianity) Ayn Rand followers have a big problem with both Christianity and Kant as a result - anything that implies we should in anyway care about other people is a problem for them (the book title: 'The virtue of selfishness' should give a good indication of where they are coming from). They call their theories a type of ethics - but their ethics are entirely anti-human (as well as anti-animal - anti-environment and anti-God) it seems they fear any real ethics (the kind that involve caring about anything other than yourself) will interfere with survival of the self and therefore conflicts with nature (it is suicide to waste time caring about others and suicide is unethical - unless someone else is doing it - and then who cares) - see social darwinism to see all the ways in which this is a stupid argument. Kant said we must all try to live in a manner that is not destructive to society and it's people - Ayn Rand followers say "The Objectivist ethics is the opposite of Kant's." Christ said give all you have to the poor and follow me - He also said love your brother as yourself - what do the Ayn Randians say? - "In the ancient world, after centuries of a gradual decline, the choice was the ideas of classical civilization or the ideas of Christianity. Men chose Christianity. The result was the Dark Ages." The phyre collective does not claim Kant or Christianity has the sole source of truth about anything - the point here is simply that Ayn Rand and her cult following detest everything that implies people should censor their actions or make sacrifices for society (i.e. other people).
3) The anti-morality and social darwinism are not a coincidence - all of the Ayn Rand arguments seem to have the goal of leading followers to fascist ideology - for a firsthand example of how in this country they try to use "reason" to argue for white-supremacy click here.
