Opinion: I think that since Jadeite's personality wasn't quite developed, the way Masaya-sama played him was an important part of him that actually gave him some traits of character. When Jadeite needs to sound evil, the actor makes him sound evil, but at the same time we have a feeling of Jadeite being a little bit immature as a villain (unlike Kunzite, for example). He has an adorable voice of a young boy who tries his best and is sometimes over-confident, and that's a part of Jadeite's charm.

Unfortunately, while Jadeite's original seiyuu is obviously very talented and can make even a non-developed character be attractive, the NA voice actor (Tony Daniels) made a very shallow Jedite. While Masaya-sama sounds evil AND cute when, for example, Jadeite growls at the Senshi, Tony Daniels just plays Jedite the way most typical villains sound. That's really sad, since Jadeite (and even Jedite ^^) doesn't deserve this.

By the way, are you aware of the fact of Takeuchi Naoko herself having said in an interview that her favorite voices in the BSSM anime were those of Usagi, Diana and Jadeite? She even said that she was sorry for killing Jadeite so soon in the manga! (That's what a real talent can do... ^_^)

The Voice - Download an example of how Onosaka Masaya sounds as Jadeite. This is a sound clip from episode 13: Jadeite is laughing at the Senshi after (seemingly) drowning Tuxedo Kamen.
