"I first encountered Jack Off Jill at a music conference showcase back in 1993. All the hipsters were in town to pretend that Tampa was some kind of music capital. The showcase was really for South Florida's buzz band of the moment, Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids. I don't remember the Manson show, but I vividly remember Jack Off Jill bounding around the stage playing punky metal rawk and shocking the people who came to be shocked by Manson. When a scary looking guy digs around in his pants, well, we've come to expect that. When a scary looking girl digs around in her panties it's something else"
