Recorded at Cherokee Studios, Los Angeles, California.
If this music sounds familiar, it should. Three of the musicians here were formerly members of post-grunge kings Days Of The New and here, joined by new lead singer Hugo Ferreira, they've basically recreated the Days' sound.
Ferreira has a low baritone that mostly recalls Jim Morrison in full Lizard King roar, but he also has a lower register growl thatrecalls Scott Weiland or James Hetfield. The band's instrumental approach depends on massed acoustic guitars overlaid with metallic electric riffs, close, double-tracked and surprisingly pretty vocal harmonies, and a straightforward rhythm section pounding out a monster groove. It's a formula, in other words, that positions them on the historical continuum beginning with Led Zeppelin and running through Pearl Jam and beyond.
