Chapter Three

“Has he taken over other realities? How do you know he’s a threat?” HLM asks, just before a blond haired, blue-eyed woman comes into the lair.

“Hey guys, I brought you…” she trails off upon seeing Jae and Diana.

“Uh…am I interrupting something?”

“Oh, heya, Angela!” Mikey exclaims, jumping up to give her a hug.

“Hey, Mikey!” She hugs him back.

Jae looks up with a raised brow.

“This is Jae and Diana, friends from an alternate reality,” Leo introduces the two.

“Nice to meet you. I’m Angela.”

Both Jae and Diana nod in greeting.

“So, uh, I was just dropping by to drop of these groceries you asked for,” Angela continues after a minute.

“Would you like to sit down and have a cup of tea?” Splinter asks from his place in his favorite chair.

“Oh! Thank you for the kind offer, but I have to get ready for a date,” she responds with an impish grin.

“Oooh, who’s the lucky girl?” Mike asks with a teasing look in his eyes.

“I met her at work…”

Diana’s attention is ripped from the conversation by the voice of her sword sounding in her head.

Diana, we must be going, Ed is on the move again, and we must not lose him at any cost.

Ugh, doesn’t this guy ever get tired?

Not for long.

Diana sighs, and Jae looks up.

“Love?” he asks.

“It’s him,” she replies bleakly, “he’s on the move again, and we must follow.”

Jae nods and rises, as does Diana.

“It was very good seeing you again, and it was nice meeting you, HLM, Angela, but we must be off,” Diana says, looking at the group in the room.

“Ya need any help?”

Diana looks to Raph. “Well, this guy is a lot to handle, but I don’t want you to be in danger just because of me…”

You will need his help,” the sword prophesizes into her head, and her head alone.

I don’t want him hurt, though,” she responds mentally.

You will regret not having him and Lady HLM along, if you do not take them.

Diana sends her sword a dirty look.

Raph grins. “I take it I’m comin’ wit’ you.”

“I go where Raph goes,” HLM says with conviction.

“All right, but with the amount of reality jumping we’ll probably be doing, I’m afraid HLM, Raph and Jae are going to have to be the only ones I can take along on this journey,” Diana says before the others can say anything about wanting to come along, too.

“But we’re a team! We can’t be split up just like that,” Leo says, standing.

“Yeah! Like, all or nothing, dude!” Mike backs him up.

“My sons,” Splinter speaks for the first time, “if Diana cannot transport all of us at the same time, and still have enough energy to defeat this foe, then perhaps only a few of us going is destined to happen.”

“But Master, aren’t we supposed to make our own destinies?” Don asks.

“Yes, in most cases, this is true, my son, but there are also some things that no one can change. This, I fear, is one of them.”

Upon hearing this, Mikey somehow mauls Raph, HLM and Diana over with hugs all at the same time. He tries to get Jae, too, but three people at once is apparently enough for him.

“Mikey,” HLM gasps after a moment.

“Yeah…?”

“Need…air…”

Mike backs off with a sheepish grin. He then gives Jae a huge hug.

“Dude, you better take good care of my bro and two sis’s,” Mike tells Jae seriously.

“I will.”

Meanwhile, the rest are exchanging goodbyes.

“Come back to us, my children,” Splinter speaks, “good luck.”

With a last nod to everyone staying, Diana unsheathes her sword and slices through the realities. Darkness consumes her, Raph, HLM and Jae.
