*Note* This is
immediately after "When Realities Meet" Due to the circumstances
involved in reality hopping, about a year passed while Diana was with the
turtles That year is when season one of Sailor Moon took place.
Her guts feel like they're on fire...again.
"Shit...I really hate this reality jumping stuff," she mutters as the burning subsides and she gets to her feet.
She stumbles as the ground rumbles under her feet.
"What the hell?! I didn't think New York had earthquakes this bad..."
"It doesn't," the sword's voice echoes in her head.
"Where are we?"
"Tokyo."
"Damn," she says softly, stepping from the alley, sheathing her sword and using the soul stone on the hilt to put an illusion over it to hide it.
She notices a little blond girl wearing a hockey jersey and screaming, stuck under a huge wooden sign with a bra over the top.
Diana sprints over to the girl, noticing that another young woman heard the cries and was heading over to help.
Diana kneels by the girl. "Hey...my name is Diana...I'm gonna help you. What's your name?"
The girl looks up at her with frightened blue eyes. "E...Evie."
"Are you hurt anywhere, Evie?"
"Don't think so...I mean...I was just going back to the hotel where my fam'ly's staying and this thing just fell on me and I can't get it off," she whimpers.
"Ok, hon...you just stay calm and this other lady and I will get this thing off of you, ok?"
"O...ok..."
Diana grabs one end of the bar and looks at the other woman.
"Got it?" the black and red haired woman wearing shades and a school uniform asks.
"Yeah."
They both strain to lift the bar off of the sign. After a few moments, they succeed, tossing the bar aside before getting the sign off the girl.
She gets up and thanks the two before running off to rejoin her family.
The two rescuers look at each other and grin wryly.
Diana notices the other woman wears shades, and hopes all her bruises are hidden. She already knew she looks like hell, but she can blame that on this quake.
She extends a hand. "I'm Diana," she introduces herself.
"HLM," the other woman says in a friendly voice, clasping her hand, "nice ta...ack!"
An exceptionally strong pulse hits then. Diana turns them both into spirit form, using her spirit stone.
HLM almost screams as the bricks and other debris fly through their insubstantial bodies from a hotel collapsing just ahead of them.
"Woah, uh...thanks, Diana," HLM says in confusion once they resolidify.
"No prob," Diana says absentmindedly, surveying the scene.
Slight movement catches her eye.
"There's someone still alive there," she comments.
"Hai, three someones," HLM continues.
Diana gasps when she looks over to her companion to see an eerie green glow emitting from behind the dark shades.
HLM clears her throat slightly, uncomfortably, "Let's go help them."
At Diana's nod, they take off running to the downed hotel, dodging broken water mains, downed, sparking power cables and the like.
Desperately, they hope
they can do some good.
Kunzite groans softly, coming to his senses. He finds himself under several layers of blankets and positioned over an as of yet unconscious Zoisite protectively. He also notices tremendous weight pressing against his back.
Slowly, he tries to push the debris off.
"Is someone there? Hello?! Does anyone need any help?!"
He hears the female voice as if from a great distance.
After a few tries, he finally gets his vocal cords working correctly.
"Here! We're over here!! Under the rubble!" he shouts as loudly as he can, and in a few seconds, he feels the weight starting to shift as what sounds like two people work to free him and his lover from what used to be the bathroom of the hotel suite they came back to life in.
He cringes as bright daylight suddenly bursts through the darkness and assaults his eyes.
"You ok?" the redhead asks, extending a delicate hand down to help him up.
"I'm fine...thank
you," he says, taking her hand with one of his and holding Zoi close to his
body with his other arm.
Diana hauls them both up and looks at HLM.
"Can you take care of our two new friends?" she asks.
"Sure thing," HLM answers with a smile, taking Diana's place taking care of the two new comers.
Diana follows the mysterious pull of the sword at her side.
"Hello?!"
She hears a soft groan and picks her way to the place the sword pulls which is also the place the sound originates from.
"I'm coming! Just...hang on!" she cries, dropping to her knees and digging with strong hands.
"Hurry! He needs air!" the sword screams into her head.
"I'm going as fast as I can!" she shouts back, doubling her pace.
She grunts, struggling briefly with a large piece of cement before tossing it aside.
A hand is exposed. She reaches over and touches it.
The fingers curl around hers encouragingly.
"That's it! Keep fighting! I'm coming!" she shouts, giving the hand a gentle squeeze.
After a moment, she uncovers a table and growls softly at the weight of the thing. She finally lugs it away from over the man, feeling several already fatigued muscles pull at the strain.
"Oh boy, I'm gonna feel that," she mutters before reaching down to the blonde man with both her hands and keeling down to help him up.
He looks at her with sun dazzled sapphire eyes, and mutters, "A...a...goddess...am I...dead?"
Diana blinks. "Uh...I don't think you are..."
He shakes his head, seeming to come to his senses more.
"Thanks," he tells her once they're both standing.
"You ok?" she asks softly, both of them blinking at the strong sense of de ja vu.
"Uh...yeah...that table saved me from being crushed," he answers, a little bewildered.
She makes a face. "Damn strait it did, sure was heavy enough," she answers with a grin and a wink.
He chuckles. "Have we met before? I feel as if I should know you."
She blinks. "I don't think so. Funny, I was about to say the same thing."
He grins a bit, wrapping his robe a bit more snuggly. "In the case, I'm Jae Daito," he holds out a hand, bowing slightly.
She takes his hand,
smiling shyly and bowing slightly as well. "Diana Manashevitz. Pleased to
meet you."
