"That her?" the copper-blond haired woman asks the golden blond haired man floating next to her.
Jae nods. "I'm sure of it."
Neph raises a brow, the wind blowing through his long auburn hair, watching the red-haired girl weaving her way through the people from their floating place in the park in Upstate New York.
"What are those things she's rolling around on?" Kunz asks with an arched brow, sun glinting off of his platinum hair.
"Who cares?" Jae asks.
"Let's get this over with," Zoi says.
Diana sits on a bench and leans down to retie and tighten her rollerblades.
"Damn things," she mutters, "shoulda gotten the clip ones."
"You don't say."
Diana looks up, startled, into dazzling Sapphire eyes.
"Uh...hi."
"Hi. C'mere." The blonde man who belongs with the eyes makes a dive for her. The last thing he expected her to do was flip back off of the bench and take off like a bat out of hell.
"Damn she's fast!" he mutters as he takes off running after her.
Diana glances back and sees him running after her.
"Who IS that guy?"
She turns her head just in time to see a very tall, platinum blond haired man just appear right in her path.
"Eeeh!" she cries out in surprise as she ducks down low enough and blades right between his legs.
"Being short definitely has its advantages," she murmurs as she grabs his cape and pulls him off balance using her momentum to yank it.
She leaves him falling on his back as she pours on the speed. Diana concentrates on the trail.
She growls deep in her throat when she comes across a section of stairs with Zoi standing at the bottom, ready to snatch her from the cement the moment she passes her.
"Hell with that," Diana whispers as she leaps up onto the railing and slides down on the edges of her blades. With one powerful, well timed thrust of her legs, she flies off of the railing, clearing her head by a good foot and smoothly landing behind a startled Zoi.
She picks up even more speed, praying that nothing else gets in her way. Sheís moving to fast to pull anymore of those tricks. It's beyond her abilities and she knows it.
Before she can slow down, another man in a gray uniform, this one with long auburn hair, appears directly in her path.
She swerves to avoid both hitting him and getting grabbed by him. One of her blades catches on a pothole in the pavement and she wipes out, managing to roll partially before skidding to a halt in the rocky sand by the lake, losing a few layers of skin in the process.
She unlaces and takes her blades of hastily, picking them up and getting to her feet to run. Just as she stumbles to her feet, though, she's tackled from the side and pinned to the ground by the blond haired, sapphire eyed one.
"I'm SORRY," she growls softly, "but do I KNOW you?"
"Got the little hell cat, Jadeite?" the woman asks, joining them and watching with a smirk as Diana struggles.
"Stop struggling, girl," Jae growls.
"Like hell, blondie!" With that, she slams her knee into his groin, causing him to cry out in pain and surprise, letting her go to double over.
She makes another break for it, only to be grabbed by Nephrite. She's prepared for the grab this time. In a dizzying series of twirls and dips, she seemingly throws Nephrite to the ground, only to be attacked by Kunzite.
One after the other, they attack, each one getting thrown back away from the girl.
After a few minutes of this, Jae finally succeeds in grabbing her long enough to drain some of her energy before getting thrown back.
When Zoisite attacks her next, Diana's so disoriented from the energy drain, that Zoiís kick connects solidly with her chest.
She tries to roll with the fall, but is only able to make it halfway over before succumbing to the vertigo and flopping to the ground.
Diana's then grabbed so tightly by Nephrite it's painful.
"What the hell do you want with me?" Diana growls while struggling against Nephrite's powerful grip.
Zoi gets right in Diana's face and answers calmly, "The Silver Imperium Crystal. Give it to us."
Diana blinks, "You got the wrong chick here folks. I have no idea what you're talking about."
Kunz raises a brow as Jadeite steps over to Diana, holding a black crystal.
She gasps in surprise as the crystal glows and spins his palm brighter and faster as he comes closer to her.
"The crystal says otherwise," Jae tells her softly, taking his sister's place in front of her eyes. She watches as if mesmerized as the crystal twirls and flashes as Jae moves it over her heart.
When the crystal is half an inch from her chest, though, it vaporizes in a brilliant flash of light.
Everyone falls back, shielding their eyes with their hands. Diana takes this opportunity to run blindly away.
She scales a tree, feeling her way, and hides within the leaves while her eyes recover from the drastic light change.
In a few moments, she hears the voices of her tormenters.
"That was a brilliant move, Jadeite," Neph says sourly, "you let her get away. Queen Beryl will be thrilled."
"I didn't know the crystal was going to do that! Anyway, you were the one holding her," Jae grumbles, blinking and rubbing his eyes.
"We should have been more careful."
"Whatever, Kunzite," is Jae's only grumbling response.
Kunz looks at Jae with annoyance in his eyes.
"Cool it, boys," Zoi speaks up, taking Jae's gloved hand in hers and looking at his singed palm. She heals his hand.
"Thanks, Zoi."
Zoi nods and goes over to Kunz, who says, "Let's go report to Beryl."
The rest nod and
teleport, Jae taking Diana's rollerblades that she left behind in her haste to
get away.
When Diana is sure her attackers are gone, she leaps down from the tree and returns to where she thought she left her blades.
"Where the hell are those things," she mutters to herself as she looks around the beach.
"Huh..? What's this?" she murmurs, picking up a piece of folded paper with her name scrawled on it.
She opens the piece of
paper up and reads whatís written there.
"Diana,
You do
not know who we are, but we know you and we know
what you have. We will possess it and
you."
