She blushes and says softly, "Well, ah, I don't like talking about myself that much, but I'll tell you a few things about my family and life and such.
Well, I'm one of the 13 pharaohs of the Black Hole worlds."
Neph blinks, "Pharaoh? As in 'earthly manifestation of a god' pharaoh?"
"Well, not exactly, but that's the only word that comes closest to the actual meaning," she puts a delicate fingertip to her lips, narrowing her eyes in thought, Neph watching her with interest.
"Hmm...well, in each millennia, there are thirteen children born with ice blue eyes that later turn to green on black and powers that emerge throughout their lives.
Those children are sought out and trained to be leaders of the society.
I'm one of those children. Heh...was one of those children, I'm an adult now," she pauses, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes, "or so some tell me."
Neph chuckles softly, "You look very much like a full grown woman now, M-chan, and a very pretty one at that."
"Looks aren't everything," she responds with a wink.
"This is true," he smiles, looking her up and down, "perhaps after you've settled in and before the ball, you would like to accompany me on a tour of the kingdom?"
"Oh," she smiles gently and blushes, "It would be a delight," she answers, standing gracefully.
"I'm glad," he takes one of her hands and kisses the back gently, making her blush again, "how does an hour sound?"
"An hour sounds good," she says softly.
"Good, then I'll return in an hour, he responds before turning and leaving her to get settled in.
Diana sighs in exasperation and crosses her arms over her chest, forcing herself to keep a tight hold on her temper.
They're fighting about herself and Jae. Again.
"Why the hell can't you keep control over your hormones for one freaking moment?! There's more to life than just SEX you know!" Mars says, glaring at Diana.
"You don't think I know that? Our relationship isn't just sex, and hormones aren't the only reason we're together so much!"
"Oh? Then pray tell WHY are you together so much? I mean, Gods! You're worse than Zoisite and Kunzite, and they're pretty damn bad!"
That earns Mars another glare from Diana, Mars simply smirks.
"The reason why
we're together so much is because we LOVE each other! Is that so foreign a
concept to you, Mars? People wanting to give each
other as much pleasure to each other because they love each other?"
Mars sends Diana a look that could kill if looks COULD kill.
"Yeah, well...Jae
said he loved me, too when we were together, and you can see how far THAT got
us! I'm telling you, Diana, he's not worth
being late over!"
"He DID love you! And you dumped him if I remember correctly! You almost drove the poor guy to suicide!
You remember all those times I had to get him to the healers to save him!"
Mars smirks, "You were probably sleeping with him THEN, too!"
Diana's jaw drops and her eyes spark with fiery anger.
"How DARE you even
SAY that?! He was my best friend, and I was his! While you and he were together,
we slept in separate beds and lived in
separate rooms! And for two years after that, too!
I suggest that you get
over your decision to dump him and get ON with your life! Now I'm going to be on
my way before I do something we both
would regret. Good day!"
Diana stalks off, unaware of Kunzite and Jadeite walking towards where she and Mars where having their argument.
"Hello, Mars," Jae says when they reach her, Kunzite nodding in greeting.
"Hello, Kunzite, Jadeite," Mars says with a faked smile.
"Was that just Diana who stormed away?" Kunz asks with an arched brow.
"Hai, that girl has a too short a temper."
Kunz hides his smirk.
Jae, however, laughs outright.
"And you, Mars, have no temper?"
He smirks at her glare.
"If you two will excuse me, I'm going to see if I can remedy this situation with my love," he says, giving Mars a cold look, before going off to find his love.
"Do you think he still has feelings, any feelings at all, for me, Kunzite?"
"Hmm, I think he still does, but any friendship you might still have with him will quickly go sour if you keep going after his lover like this."
Mars frowns at his response, "Thank you for your input, but I must be on my way."
"Very well, good day, Mars."
"Good day,
Kunzite," she answers, heading off toward one of the buildings, leaving
Kunz to finish his walk through the gardens alone.
Jae finds Diana sitting on a bench, holding a flower cupped in her hands, and sobbing very softly.
"Oh, Diana," he says softly, sitting by her and resting an arm around her shoulders.
"Jae," she whispers softly in greeting as he pulls her close and she leans into his embrace.
"Oh, koibito, what did she say to you that upset you so much?" He asks softly, tilting her head up to look in her tear filled eyes.
"That girl is so
infuriating! She came after me about our relationship again," Diana answers
softly, reaching up to brush a few strands of
hair from his face, a tear rolling down her cheek.
Jae leans over and tenderly kisses the salty little tear away before saying, "Our relationship is no business of hers."
"I know it's not," Diana sighs softly, gazing into her lover's eyes, "but she's not over you yet."
Jae blinks, sapphire eyes surprised, "Love, she dumped me, remember?"
"How could I forget? You had me so worried, so many times," she gently kisses his forehead, "she still has feelings for you."
"I know she does, but you're the only one for me now, I'm over her, and that's all that should matter to us."
"Hai, beloved, but she is trying to break us up..."
"I know, we simply won't let her," he leans over, pulling her close and feeling her arms slide around his neck, and kisses her tenderly.
As he feels her tongue
carress his, he's more certain than ever before that they were meant to be
together far more than he and Mars were ever
meant to be.
