Geek & Sundry is a production company and multi-channel network that began in April 2012, founded by Felicia Day, Kim Evey, and Sheri Bryant. It started on YouTube, and has since added content on various other platforms, though I'm afraid I personally have only seen the YouTube stuff (and not all of that). It consists of different types of shows that are meant to appeal to people with various interests that might be considered "geeky." There's live-action, animation, fiction, and reality content. Aside from producing its own original content, the company has also acquired some existing series, as well as producing new episodes of some of those series. In August 2014, Geek & Sundry was acquired by Legendary Entertainment. In 2016, Day left the company. Since then G&S has produced less content than it originally did (now mostly gaming shows that were quite popular, but didn't interest me), and in January 2022 the official website began redirecting to Nerdist.com.
...Anyway, this is obviously not a genre, but I'm including it as a specific category of web reviews because it has been pretty important to me, and I've watched quite a few shows on the network. And in a way, I do think of it as more of a brand, and sort of more cohesive, thematically, than networks like Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, et al. Even if it includes a lot of content in which I have no real interest. (And there are more shows I should check out sometime, because I've rather fallen behind on keeping up with whatever new stuff they've done in the last few years.)
