I haven't seen enough of this to rate it.

The Benny Hill Show, BBC One / ITV (UK)
IMDb; TV.com; TV Tropes; Wikipedia

I have not seen much of this, and what little I have seen, I don't remember with any clarity. Nor do I remember precisely when or where I saw it. I think it was probably sometime in the 90s, and probably on my local public television station, but I could be wrong about either or both of those things. And I wouldn't have known when the episodes I saw were from. Wikipedia tells me this show ran from 1955 to 1991, which is a ridiculously long time, especially considering that it wasn't any good. (Other sites say 1969-89, which is still crazy long.) All I really remember about it is that there were frequent chase scenes, to the tune "Yakety Sax." (I mean, scenes of buffoonish men chasing scantily-clad women.) I don't think I found any of the sketches amusing, and the whole thing seemed terribly misogynistic and just plain stupid. And yet... the show is worth mentioning just because "Yakety Sax" itself has been parodied in any number of other things. So it's kind of... nostalgic, or something... to occasionally see a scene in something else and realize, "Oh, they're spoofing Benny Hill." And that's all I can think to say.
