I don't remember this well enough to rate it.

Midnight Caller, on NBC

This aired for three seasons, from 1988 to 1991. I didn't have access to NBC at the time, but it's entirely possible the show was syndicated to a channel I did get, because I vaguely remember watching this (if it's the show I'm thinking of, which it probably is). Then again, I feel like it's something I might have seen a few years after it ended, on satellite or something. I'm not sure. Anyway, all I'd be able to tell you from memory is that a late night radio talk show host tried to help people who called his show with their problems. And I don't just mean by giving them advice on the air, but actually by leaving the studio after the show and getting personally involved. So he acted kind of like a detective. Looking it up online now, I see that it his name was Jack Killian, and he was played by Gary Cole, which is something I didn't remember... though I was fairly sure it starred someone I knew from other things, so I guess it's not surprising that it was him. Anyway, I don't know how much of the show I even saw (surely not three seasons worth). And I don't think I was ever particularly into it, but I felt like mentioning it, anyway.
