So... hmmm. What do I mean by "classics"? Basically, any show that originally aired in the 1950s or 60s. Some of the things I include here will be genre shows (science fiction or fantasy), some may be "campy", or other genres. Most will just be sitcoms. They're obviously all from before my time (I was born in 1975), so I've only ever seen them in reruns. When I was a kid, some of these shows would be on weekday afternoons or possibly weekend mornings. I suppose they were also on cable, but I didn't have that until much later. Some of them I maybe never did get to see until I got cable, in my late teens or early 20s. Many of these shows I still don't know very well, or if I did at one point, I didn't remember them well by the time I started writing reviews on my site. Some, however, are more important to me than others. Um... I should also say that maybe some shows from the 1970s I could almost think of as classics, since they're before my time (I wasn't really watching TV at all, that I recall, until at least the mid to late 80s, and I'm not sure how memorable anything I watched was to me before the early 90s). But still, my own lifetime is hardly an objective factor for determining whether a show is a "classic" or not (so I'll include things from the 70s onward in other categories like "sitcom" or "nostalgia" or whatever I'd put them in if I had been around to watch them when they first aired). In fact, I'm sure there were plenty of shows from the 50s and 60s I've never even heard of, let alone seen. And while some of them may have been good, probably others deserve not to be remembered, at least by me. Of course, it's also possible some of the ones I include here weren't that great, either... but hey, if I've seen it and feel like mentioning it even in passing... whatever. It's not like my reviews matter, or anything....
