The universe exists. All its physical laws are absolutes.
Issues of morality, ethics, politics, economics, and philosophy did not exist before
civilized humankind. Within humankind, however, there exist certain fundamental
truths, based on the following premises:
(a)Men have the capacity for Reason. This reason allows them to percieve and integrate the
physical truths of their world. It allows them to understand these principles which I am
writing down.
(b) Life is good--or at least, preferable to death. Assuming that somebody disagrees with this,
he or she will prefer death to life, and, assuming his/her actions are consistent with his/her
beliefs, he or she will make no effort to preserve his/her life, and will thus die, making him or
her of no consequence in the context of these premises.
