She was here, she was really here. Cassandra set her sunglasses on the dashboard, and grabbed her backpack. Time to check into her hotel, and check out the venue.
An hour or so before the show, and the place was already packed. It took twenty minutes to fight her way to the t-shirt booth, and Cassandra started looking for the group she was supposed to meet. Slashers from three states were here, and Cassandra was finally going to meet some of her closest friends. Boy, did she have a bomb to drop about Kaos and Freak. No wonder they never gave their seat numbers. She handed over her ticket.
The man at the door looked at it, then checked it again. "Ma’am, if you’d come with me?"
Now what? "Is there something wrong with my ticket?" Cassandra let him lead her out around back.
"I don’t think so." There was a limo waiting there. "This morning, all the ticket takers were briefed with your seat assignment. The first one to find you got a bonus."
Cassandra just nodded dumbly. "Did I win a contest or something?"
"Don’t know." He opened the door for her, and headed back into the building.
She slipped inside, and her eyes bugged out. "Oh. My. God. You’re, you’re…"
"Hi." Nick waved.
AJ peered over his sunglasses at her. "Maybe we should have warned her?"
She managed not to scream. "What? How? Why? I don’t understand. Did I win something?"
"You didn’t exactly win a contest. We kind of owe you a favor." AJ reached under the seat, and pulled out a file folder.
"A big one." Clipped to the front of the folder was a front row ticket.
Cassandra shakily took it. "I don't understand. I'm not even a member of the fan club."
"I'd just read, Candy." Nick was grinning like a fool.
She took a look at the front page. "How did you get this? They haven't… No way."
The Freshmen
Summary: AU. Nick and AJ are college roomies, and that's all we're saying.
Disclaimer: Yes, we really are Nick and AJ and this story is based on our secret love affair. Now if you buy that… well, it isn't our problem.
"Is this some kind of joke?"
AJ shook his head. "Nope. We owe you a lot, Candy. Just… don't tell anyone. Especially those girls you're meeting in about," He looked at his watch. "Five minutes."
"Who would believe me?" She looked at the ticket. "I really helped the two of you?"
"Yeah." Nick leaned against AJ. "If you hadn't 'introduced' us, who knows if we'd ever have said anything."
"Wow." Cassandra smiled. "I'll keep quiet if you do two things for me."
"Yeah, sure."
"Sign this?" She held up the cover page of the story.
"I don't think that's such a good idea." AJ looked at Nick. "Kevin would kill us."
"Yeah." Nick grinned and pulled out a pen. "Let’s do it anyway."
"Nick-"
"You're still groveling. You will do whatever I say. Now give Candy an autograph. We have to go change." Nick scribbled his name, and handed the pen to AJ. "You're not going to blackmail us or anything, are you?"
"No, no." She looked at it. "If you two ever come out, I'm selling this baby on E-Bay."
AJ laughed. "Hey, what was the second thing?"
Now, that was an evil smile. "I want to see you two kiss."
"What?!" Nick's eyes bugged out for a second.
"Come on. I’m a slasher. It's a lifelong dream." She put on her puppy dog eyes.
"Fine, just, you gotta promise?"
"I promise."
AJ met Nick's eyes, and leaned forward. Contact.
Nick made a strangled noise. Cassandra started clapping.
