If you type like that, do us all a favor and fall over and die. This little piece of horror was found on fanfiction.net, but that place really is just a bunch of horrors. How lazy can you be to refuse to type a few little letters? Myself, I cannot stand to read things that are written in this new language of lazy English. It's okay to have a couple, I guess, but things like this are not okay, and sadly they are everywhere.
Let me just point out to you, as someone who is geekishly aware of grammar and is taking on the persona of an English teacher for the time being, point out the horrors found in this little two liner.
1-Sentences don't start with a capital letter, none of them.
2-"I" needs to be capitalized.
3-"luv" is not found in the English dictionary.
4-"ur"… my brain cannot even comprehend such things. It's hick talk! Ahhh!
5-"plez" I don't pronounce that “please”, more like pez with an "L" shoved in there.
6-"cuz" I hate this word. Are you just too lazy to type "'cause", or heaven forbid you type "because"!
7-"2 c" This is not only lazy, but sounds like the name of some crappy pop group.
8-"gonna" I will have to admit, I do this also, but that doesn't make it right!
9-"c-ya L8R" Do I even need to explain?
Now, I'll be one of the first to admit that I am pretty lazy, but is it really that hard to press an extra key on the keyboard? If people actually talked like this, would you honestly want to speak with them, that is if you could first understand them. Seriously people; just type the extra letters. At least pretend like you’re intelligent.
