"John Lennon, former member of the Beatles, was shot to death at 10:50 p.m. monday outside his apartment on West 72nd Street and Central Park West. Lennon,40, was taken to Roosevelt Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:15 p.m. Police said a suspect has been taken into custody."
