Warning: The following legend contains some material that may offend some readers. You've been warned read at your discreetion.

There was this family living next door to one of our aunts and they had just gotten married and had their first kid. The baby hardly let them sleep or go out and they wanted some quiet so they hired a babysitter.

This was in the 60's and the girl was a flower child. She had just arrived and they gave her the number to the theater they would be at. They remind her there was some left over turkey in the fridge that she just needed to heat some up.

So the couple leave their baby with the hippie girl and drive off to the movies. The girl sits on the couch and tries to shake off the effects of the acid she just took.

At the theater the mother calls to check on the babysitter. She tells her that everything is fine that she changed the baby's diaper and prepared the turkey.

A short time later an usher informs the crowd that a call was waiting for two guests. The wife goes with the usher. The call was from the babysitter who wanted to know what temperature to cook the turkey at. The wife politely tells her.

The couple after the movie decide to go home. As they arrive they smell food but, they hurry to the door and open it.

The husband gets a puzzled look on his face when he sees the half eaten turkey in the playpen. The turkey had a fresh diaper on it. They wonder where was the baby.

"Dinner is ready!" The girl announces.

The couple walk into the kitchen and there on top of a serving platter was the baby, also half eaten.

The End.

I warned you it was offensive! This tale has a few variations:

A) the girl is not on drugs she is just insane

B) the girl is a cannibal

C) A crazy killer breaks in and the couple find the baby cooked and the baked a)head b)arm c)foot of the babysitter half eaten.

D) The girl is drunk.

E) The boyfriend comes over, gets tired of the baby crying so he cooks it.

Did this really happen? Yes and no. Something similar did happen: This is a true case the one I'm about to tell.

There was a young mother who wanted to go to a wild party. She could not find a babysitter, so she walked down the hall with her baby. She walked over to the apartment incinerator chute. She calmly opened it and shoved the baby down it.

Don't ask me who it was or when it happened because I don't know. If anyone read Dean R. Knootz's Dragon Tears then you know of this case. One of the main characters in the novel is describing hideous crimes to her partner and at the end of the novel Dean Knootz added and editoral which mention in it that the crimes the character was describing did in fact happen and that he lifted them right out of the newspaper. So if you want to know who, when and why you'll have to ask Mr. Knootz.-JLB
