Current Weight:  245
Highest Weight:  308
Height:  5' 9"
Goal Weight: 150ish
Your Diet Plan:  I basically watch what I eat, limit my carbs, but not too severely
Your Fitness Plan:  6 days a week weight training; alternating upper and lower body.  Walking at least 3 days per week.  In a few weeks, I will incorporate aerobics into my plan.
What diet plans have you used in the past?
Weight Watchers:  I've tried them twice and had success both times.  I actually like that program a lot, but until I get past not taking time for myself it's impossible for me to keep up with the meetings.
Low Carb/High Protein:  This was life changing for me.  I was suffering from an insulin disorder without knowing it.  I followed it for 30 days to kickstart my system and it worked like a charm.  This was supervised by a physician.
Why do you want to lose weight?
Having a baby at the age of 40 was sobering.  It was like I suddenly woke up and realized that I wasn't going to live forever.  I sat in the hospital after having her and told myself that I didn't want to go through life saying "I would have, I should have, I could have".  A few weeks after having my baby, I went to the grocery store to do some shopping.  I saw this woman using one of those motorized carts to get around, and I knew why.  She was very, very large, and no doubt that there was no way she could walk around the store.  I thought it was ironic that she needed the cart to shop for the very thing that put her in that chair.  Her buggy was loaded with tons of junk food.  The saddest part was that I knew that could be me in 10 years.

All of my reasons came down ot the same thing -- living.  I mean truly Living Life... I want to hike, run, ski, and rollerskate.  Oh sure, I could do those things now, but I want to do them FREELY.  I want to do the things I miss -- simple things like riding the rides at a carnival and not so simple things like cycling on the Blue Ridge.  I want to be strong enough to raise my daughter.  I don't want to be a burden to my kids when I get older.  I've wasted a lot of time, and I don't want to waste anymore!!

UPDATES

January 14th - Lost 2 pounds.

January 21st - I didn't lose any weight by the scale.

February 11th - I am changing things up a bit.  I will weigh in on February 18th.  See you then.
