"My Beloved Ashley"

5/16/84-6/20/02

The above and below photos were
taken of my beloved
"Ashley"
just one hour before she made her final
journey, at 2am on 6/20/02,

I write this with a heavy heart,
"Ashley" was my 18 year old Pomeranian.
They are usually double coated
small dogs in the "Toy" group.
Due to alergies that Ashley had when she was
younger, she had to be clipped in a short hair-do.
. leaving her looking like a little fox, very cute indeed.
This is why you don't see the poofy coat,
her coat never did grow back right.
which was fine with me, she was adorable
the way she was,
and those big beautiful black eyes of her's,
so beautiful, so animated, and stayed
that way right to the end.
She came from "Cup Of Love" Kennels.
I also have two other Pom's
(both senior citizens, themselves)
named "Mandy" and "Renee".
I also have a Yorkshire Terrier, named "BamBam"
also older. and then "Molly" our beloved cat.
In fact I, myself am "old". I have always called
our household "The Senior Citizen Center".
Now we have one less "breath" to listen for.
Back to My Ashley now.

My Little Ashley died
at the Animal Emergency Center
at 3am, Thursday June 20th, 2002.
She died of congestive heart failure
and though she 'went' fast, she suffered terribly.
I had just made that 'horrific' and hard decision to
"let-her-go" when she took her last breath on her own.
I gave her a 'last' kiss and a hug before leaving and cut
a little lock of her hair. I have that, these photos
and her ashes, but will never, ever forget her,
She fought like the trooper she always
was, right to the bitter end.
Now she can join "Kelly" and "Nikki" and many
others who were very close to her. ..

The pain is so terrible, and the gapping hole
in my heart seems like it will never heal,
but I know it will ease with time,
and I know she is now at peace,

I Say To You, My Dear Ashley ...
"God Speed, and Spread Your Little Wings and
Fly High, Free of All Pain and Suffering!"

I will miss you so much,
so please have fun being back in your
youth and playing with all
of your 'brothers' and 'sisters'
and one day, real soon we will again be reunited.
I find myself saying "I wish I had just "one"
more day with you Ashley, just one more day"
but then I would be saying that
each and everyday. It is time I let 'you' go.
for I have been so fortunate and blessed to have had
you for 18 wonderful years.
And now I must 'celebrate' your life.
I Love You and Miss You!
My Sweet Ashley

Here is a photo of two Pom's,
sorry not mine, but the one on the right looks
a lot like my "Mandy",
right down to her "worried" look.
The one on the left looks a lot like "Renee".
Both Ashley and Renee are red-sable in color
and Mandy is considered a 'red/buff'.
My "Yorkie" is a blue and tan. and very tiny. too tiny.
And "Molly" the cat, is a domestic short hair,
your everyday kitty, however she is the sweetest
little kitty I could ever want.
Just a little more info on my wonderful
"family" of four legged "critter's"
