Chef Donato's Kitchen

(Self-Proclaimed)

Ciao Tutti Mi Amici! Mi Chiamo Chef Donato! This is my page about my second passion and thats COOKING!! Hey c'mon now, we italians love to mangia, and if you love to mangia you must learn how to cucinare!! On this page you'll see a couple of the things I come up with, either by recipe, personal experience, or by improvising. Some of the things you see here I will tell you how to make yourselves, others I can't because they are family recipes. You can bet that after August '03 you'll see some family pics of the two days we spend making HomeMade Tomato Sauce, and maybe if I can manage permission, I can sneak some pictures of the family secret wine making. Well I hope you enjoy, and if you have any requests for me to try, I'll be happy to try and fit it in and give it a whirl in Donato's Kitchen. Now, non ha preoccupare e Mangia Mangia Mangia!!

~ Chocolate Covered Strawberries ~

Step One: Boil A pot of Water

Step Two: Put another pot ontop of the boiling water. The reason for this is when you put your chocolate into the pot it isnt directly touching the fire and it wont burn as easily.

Step Three: Add your chocolate. I personally use Hershey's Semi Sweet Morsels.

Step Four: Melt the chocolate until it is smooth and chunk free.

Steps Five through Seven: I didnt show these in pic format cause I do my dipping in a special way, but after the chocolate is melted and smooth you want to dip your strawberries. After you have them dipped and covered you place them on a pan that is lined with wax paper. Once they are all covered and complete, you place them in the fridge for about two hours. When they are finished and nice and the chocolate is firm, thats when you know they are done and they should look like this:

As you can tell by the above pic, the pan to the far left has a different color chocolate in it. Those are a new strawberry variety I have just started to offer. Those are the Milk Chocolate/Peanut Butter Covered Strawberries.

Thanksgiving Special : Cranberry Conserve

These are just a few pics of the cranberries being boiled in a mixture of strawberry syrup, water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks. I wish there was a way for you all to be able to smell this cooking because it was just amazing.
