» 14.10.03 The time has come for West Oz BMX riders to say farewell to Vertigo in the best way possible and that is to shred her until you can give no more. It seems Joe and Steve have decided to stop burning money so the fairy tale has come to an end. This means soon, there will no longer be an indoor park in WA. So for the next 2 weeks or so, have your last ride on plywood because it won’t happen again for a while.

From 4pm the park is ours for a night of bicycle stunting followed by food and drunks. So nom up a skipper, round up the local flyout militia and come throw down a few with the Vertigo and CHL crew.

» 22.9.03 Last weekend my best friend Nathan Drew slipped off the rocks while fishing at Salmon Holes. He was dragged out and sucked under water by the under tow. Nath is no longer with us. Nath was only 15 and was one of the best riders I have ever ridden with. He could peg chink anything and was always up for a challenge. RIP I will never forget you - Bobby.

» 22.4 Sandpit (in Waneroo) is well under construction again, big 6 pack down the middle is up and running and other packs are now underway thanks to the addition of a hose.
Pingelly finally got its skate park. Its got a half pipe, fun box, a spine, big 1/4, couple of rails and a start ramp. Also a new big 4 pack, so if anyone's comin through come check it out.
» 06.4.03 Construction is underway on another park in Belmont and it sounds like it's gonna be a good bike orientated park with big trannies and the like. It has been confirmed that Busselton will finally get a park.

» 9.12 Daniel Nitschke won the national qualifiers for the Planet X-games then followed that up with a tenth placing in the Aus X-Games against some stiff competition including the best of Australias international riders and Americans.
» 5.11 New plans have been made and apparantly construction (or more the point, destruction) is already underway to turn Vertigo into happy sk8r land flatbanksville. The change is happening coz they reckon they get more business from the woodpushers, so its gonna be not-so-vertigo soon... good bye box, spine and bowl, hello banks.
They are goin to put the box and rolling outside though and also a foam pit.
» 24.10 There is a new skatepark in Kalbarri, pretty small with bout 5 foot half pipe with hips on the sides in to a 3 footer with a bubble thing in the middle and grind poles and ledges it has one light on till late.

» 8.7 Warwick Wheeler from Bmxpress mag spent last week in Perth shooting photos and filming the local riders and scenes. Expect to see a big scene report on W.A in the next issue, plus look out for West Oz riders on a new video coming out soon from Bmxpress, plus on the foxtel show bmx central later in the year.
You'll be pleased to know that Props have planned to film Perth for an issue of Passport.They will be here along with a heap of U.S pros for the Worlds in July next year, sick.
Carine sk8 park is well under construction, and looking pretty sweet. Expect it to be very shreddable in bout 2-3 weeks. To see plans of Carine, and also Gosnells and Kinross sk8 parks, which both look fuckin dope and will be getting started very soon, see the Convic sk8 parks website.
» 9.6 There is a new park going to be built in Falcon (thats about 5 minutes from Mandurah). Its going to cost around 130 thousand bucks. It will have a half pipe, a spine, a bowl, a grind box, some hips and some quarter pipes. They have to get a little bit more money and a contracter and then they will start building.
