My first original scuplture! This (pic coming soon) will be, when finished, a large SM-size jumping Quarter Horse gelding/stallion (undecided). He will probably look something like the horse I ride, Diamond. As of now, he has his basic body finished except for his back hooves. He is getting all muscled up now (he has to be a QH!) and his face is slowly being detailed. He will probably be liver chestnut
when finished and will have a haired mane and tail, which will both be braided. Please feel free to e-mail me (caroline@36524.com) with any comments or suggestions! His pic IS coming soon. Thanx! BAD UPDATE! I forgot to do a wire armature
for this guy because he is little - so both his front legs, one ear, and his new back feet all were broken off. If I ever get him back together, he will be a chestnut overo paint stallion.
This is my second horse in the making, a SM silky sullivan.
He/she will be a clydesdale or fresian when finished. Right now,
she has big blobs of clay on three legs (feathers!) and one leg
with sculpted feathers. She also has a new, almost finished, muzzle
and a new mane. She may be for sale upon completion (we need some sale horses!).
UPDATE- Classic Keen to liver chestnut QH w/ sculpted mane and tail is COMPLETED! Go to the customs by us page to see him or click here to see his very own page with more pictures!
NEW HUNTERS! Carly and I bought a set of bodies for remaking. There were 2 micro drafters, 1 ugly CM Ertl QH, 1 OF SM swaps, 1 new morgan SM with slightly turned head, 1 SM native dancer with new tail and broken leg, 1 SM swaps remade to canter, and 1 SM Arabian stallion remade to trotting (?). I got the native dance, 1 drafter, the cantering swaps, and the ertl. I moved the native dancer's head down for a more hunter look. Carly asked me to reposition the OF swaps to a jumper, but I messed up, so now it's a hunter trotting (I moved all 4 legs and lowered and tucked the head). Here are pictures of me three new hunters! >
Carly's Customs in Progress:
Hey! I just decided I might want to update this section after it had been sitting around for well, MONTHS, and the in progress models that were on here aren't in progress anymore. I have all new pieces to tell you about! :)
Remember that body box Caroline and I bought? Well I got the old mold Arab stallion which had been repositioned to a trot. Well, I hacked off it's wee bit of mane and what was left of its tail and scuplted it new ones with my new box of GAPOXIO! (that stuff is a sculptors best friend after dealing with paper clay!) Anywayz, she (yes it's a she now, although it was never very defined in the first place) is all sanded and ready to be painted, unfortunately my second airbrush has died on me like the first(I really can't figure out why!) so she is waiting for a nice professional paint job, depending on how I like her when she;s finishe she *might* be for SALE! whoo hoo! I'll be posting pics when she's finished!
The next model on the plastic surgeon's table (did I say plastic surgeon's table? I ment sculptor's! whoops! my bad!) is a body I bought off of ebay that is the SM Silky Sullivan that has been repositioned to be a replica of the Traditional MFT. :) well, I figure, if he's got the gate, then I better make the mane and tail look the same as well! So I took out my trusty package of Gapoxio and scupted him a gorgeous new mane and tail, I also made him a more noticible gelding (those old mold SM's aren't very defined!) He is all ready to be painted as well and I am debating on colors, please take the pole below to help me choose!
For my next project, I took the New mold rearing Arab, that had fallen from my shelves while rearranging my bedroom and broken her tail, and gave her new ones and Caroline helped sculpt her a luscious new tail with help from my new best friend (yep that handy GAPOXIO!). Well, she's ready for the paint job as well but is waiting patiently for me to rake in the dough to pay for these guys to be painted decently! :)
Well, this is my MEGA HUGE GIGANTIC SUPER DUPER SEMI-ANNUAL PROJECT!!!! What I did was take the second "Henry" fjord model that my riding instructor gave to me and decided, well, no sense leaving it a fjord, because there are too many color limitations. Hmmm... should it be yellow dun? cream dun? silver dun? although I love duns, it can get a little old. So I took my new best friend (nope not the gapoxio, but the handy dandy DREMEL!) and cut off his little fjord mane and forelock. Then I took a nice pot of boling water, and gave him a bath! Well, actually, I heated the plastic and moved him to a trotting position and lowered and straightened his head and neck. The gate change turned out perfectly, but during the head movement, one side of his cute little face caved in, so handy dandy DREMEL and GAPOXIO came in to the rescue again and fixed him up a nice new face! Then I took to sculpting him a new mane and forelock. While deciding what I should sculpt it into, I took into notice the shaggy hairs that the model featured, and realized how much time it would take to smooth them out and make him a clean pony again, so I decided "I'll make him a shaggy winter pony!" That's right, I took to making him a nice overgrown bridalpath, then started sculpting on his many layered, long mane that I applied strand by strand, LITERALLY! Then I sculpted him a long forelock in the same manner and proceeded to make him some new fancy little pony feathers on his feet. I again took noticed how long it would take to hack off his entire hunk of tail and make him a new one the way that I was making the mane and tail, so I just added, strand by strand, a new layer on top pf his original tail, and even sculpted his dock underneath. Well, he is all sculpted and sanded and has already been sent off to our past painter, Terri Dewit, to be painted a light bay roan tobiano, he will be completed by next week, and many pictures will be posted of him in his very own page! I hope you fall in love with him as much as I have. Sorry, but he will NOT be for sale. :)
Well, that's all for now! Thanx for your comments!
