Secondary State Highway 14C

SSH 14C was added to the state highway system in 1937. This route began at Jct PSH 14 in Gig Harbor and headed southerly to the Point Fosdick ferry landing. SSH 14C was dropped from the state highway system in 1939 when PSH 14 was extended in state law from Gig Harbor via the Tacoma Narrows Bridge to Tacoma. The bridge did not actually open to traffic until July 1940. When the bridge was destroyed in November 1940, the ferry route from Point Fosdick to Tacoma was put back into service until the present bridge was completed in 1950.
