Secondary State Highway 4C

SSH 4C was added to the state highway system in 1937. This route began at Jct PSH 4 (now SR 21) on the northwest outskirts of Wilbur and headed northwesterly, ending at a junction with the Grand Coulee branch of PSH 2 south of Grand Coulee Dam. In 1955, the Grand Coulee branch of PSH 2 was dropped from the state highway system. About the same time, SSH 4C was significantly straightened between the Wilbur and Grand Coulee Dam areas. It was not until 1961, however, that state law was rewritten to describe the northwest terminus of SSH 4C as being at Jct SSH 2F at Grand Coulee Dam. Today, SSH 4C is part of SR 174.
