SSH 2G was added to the state highway system in 1937. This route began at Jct PSH 2 (before 1940 US 10, 1940-1948 Alt US 10, since 1948 US 2) west of Reardan and headed southerly via Edwall, ending at Jct SSH 11F (now SR 23) north of Sprague. SSH 2G is now part of SR 231.
