SR 700 was a tentative route number for a proposed route often referred to as the Cross Base Highway. The proposed alignment would begin at Jct I-5 in the Tillicum district of Lakewood and head east in the general vicinity of the boundary between Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base to Jct SR 7 in Spanaway. This route would probably be built to expressway rather than full freeway standards.
The 2002 session of the state legislature assigned the designation SR 704 rather than SR 700 to the Cross Base Highway.
