State Route 13

There is no SR 13 under the current state highway numbering system. US 97 from the Cle Elum-Teanaway area to Jct US 2 near Peshastin was implicitly SR 13 under the 1964 state highway renumbering. In 1964, I-90 had not yet been built between Cle Elum and Ellensburg. US 10 joined US 97 at Teanaway, a few miles ESE of Cle Elum. Both US 10 and US 97 then followed the route that is today SR 10 toward Ellensburg. The general route now followed by US 97 was numbered SR 131. I-90 was completed from Cle Elum to Ellensburg in 1967. US 97 was rerouted from Teanaway to I-90 Exit 85 along what is now SR 970 and via I-90 to Ellensburg. In the 1970s, SR 131 was improved. The US 97 designation replaced the SR 131 designation from Virden to Ellensburg. Former US 97 from Virden to I-90 became SR 970.

On April 1, 1992, a new SR 131 came into existence, linking US 12 at Randle with National Forest Route 25, a few miles south of Randle.
