Fall is here and that means youth group is starting back up in full swing! The high school youth group meets every Wednesday night after Village Nite. Here is the Wednesday night schedule: 5:45-6:30 Dinner 6:35-6:45 Gathering time 6:45-7:45 Classes for kids, adults and confirmation; high school goes to Starbucks 7:45-9 PM Youth group The first night of this schedule is September 26th; On September 19th there is a potluck BBQ, followed by 7-12th grade bowling at Spinalley. Bring $6. Here is the schedule for upcoming Wednesday nights: September 26th: Last Word (youth worship service) October 3rd: Games at church October 10th: Funtasia October 17: Write to college kids October 24: Last Word October 31: Village Nite harvest party; No Youth Group following. High school also has Bible Study every single Sunday night at 6 PM, usually under the direction of Sam Capps. During the education Hour of Sunday mornings (9:45-10:45) High school will start meeting in the youth room on September 30th (which is also youth Sunday--we hope you will all participate in this worship) Topics: September 30: Informational meeting on upcoming Spring Break Service Trip October 7th: Islamic Faith (lead by Sam) October 14th: No meeting, everyone on Fall Retreat October 21: Revelation and the series "Left Behind" lead by Pastor Marj October 28th: Continuation of Revelation Jr high also meets during this time, with Sharon Boyd in room 28. This group will be talking about peace and justice, and honoring our neighbor's faith. Special upcoming events: Confirmation Retreat: September 21-13, Lutherwood in Bellingham. A weekend of fun and games and discussions designed to get you to know each other better. Let Justice Roll: October 5-8, A leadership weekend at Holden Village around themes of peace and justice. High School Fall Retreat: October 12-14; Yelm, a Weekemd designed for relaxation. We'll also talk about peace and stuff. Jr. High Insanity Nite: Nov. 2-3 all night long, hanging out with youth from a bunch of area churches High School Region One Youth Gathering, Wonderbread: November 23-25, Bellevue WA. Come spend two nights in a hotel with 1000 other youth from the 5 state area. Bunch of crazy stuff will happen. High School Ski Trip: Mt. Baker, MLK weekend: Jan. 18-20. Hang out, ski, devote together for a weekend. Spring Break Service Trip: Details still unknown, but during the week of April 6-12, we will go someplace cool to serve God and our brothers and sisters who are less materially wealthy than us. May Holden Youth Weekends: If we get in to the first weekend, we will be at Holden for 2 nights, hanging out with 200 other people from around the 5 state area. Spring Retreat: Lutherwood, Bellingham, May 17-19th. During this retreat the confirmation kids plan their worship service for confirmation, on June 2nd. Western States Youth Gathering: July 1-7, San Jose, California: thought the Region One gathering was crazy? try adding a bunch more states and 4000 more people and a few extra nights and putting it in California. This is a crazy trip. Flathead: Jr. high will spend the week in camp, high school will go out for some high adventure back packing in Montana wilderness: what is known only as "The BOB."
