~*Chapter 25*~

"You still want to go to the beach?" he whispered in my hair.

"Sure," I said. He kissed me softly, and as it started to get hot, I pushed away.

"Um.. Nick?" I asked.

"Yeah," he said, pulling my head towards his again.

"Let's.. go..to..the...beach," I said, between kisses.

"Now?" he asked, kissing down my neck. I shook out of his grasp.

"Yeah," I nodded. He looked interrupted, and his hair was screwed up, but it just made him look more desirable, almost enough to make me stay home in his arms.

"Okay, I'll go change into my bathing suit," he said, leaving my room. I felt like running out, and telling him to skip going to the beach, but him being in my room, made me feel a little uncomfortable. I grabbed my bathing suit, still a little damp from the other day, and quickly wriggled into it. I walked down the stairs, and into the living room. I saw Nick still in his boxers, trying to find his bathing suit. "Oh, sorry. I'll be in the kitchen," I said, leaving him alone.

"Nah, it's okay," he said, appearing at the doorway to the kitchen, wearing his bathing suit.

"I like your bathing suit," I admired.

"Thanks," he said, putting his arms around my waist.

"You're welcome," I said, putting my head softly on his chest. I felt his heart beat, softly. I wanted to be in his arms forever. I looked up, as his head leaned down to kiss me. As we parted, he asked, "Do you still want to go to the beach?"

"Kinda, unless you want to stay here," I whispered.

"C'mon," he said, leading me to his car. We drove in silence to the beach, unable to think of something to say. We grabbed towels and laid them down on the sand, and sat down. I looked around, and when my eyes found Nick, I saw him staring at me. I threw a handful of sand at his stomach, and said, "Yo Carter."

"Sorry," he said, blushing, but quickly trying to hide it.

"I've never seen you blush," I said, leaning closer to him, and grabbing his hand.

"Never?" he asked.

"Nope," I said, smoothing out his hand. I looked out at the ocean, suddenly tired of always coming. "You tired of being here also?" he asked.

"A little," I replied.

"C'mon, let's go," he picked me up, and led me back to his car. We drove home again, trying to think of something. He led me in the house, and led me into the living room. "Nick.." I asked, confused.

"Shh..." he said, silencing me, by kissing me with lots of passion. My hands walked up his back, and his mouth trailed down my neck and back up. I felt his hands locate my bathing suit strap, and try to pull it down. I quickly freed myself from him, unable to think of what he was doing. "Nick?" I asked, confused. He looked stunned. I grabbed his hand, and placed it on my heart.

"Nick, feel this?" I asked. He nodded slowly.

"It beats night and day, just to be with you, to love you for another day," I whispered, "But I have a promise to myself, that I swear I will keep. It's definitely the hardest one, but I will keep it." I dropped his hand, and left the room, unable to still be there in that awkward silence. I grabbed my keys, and a t-shirt, and threw the shirt over my head. I thought he knew how I felt, but obviously he didn't. Didn't he know how hard that secret was to keep, especially being around him? I didn't know where I was going, as I slammed my car door shut, and turned on the ignition, but I knew I had to get away from my house. Away from the thing that just occured. I didn't even want to think about it, but it kept haunting me as I drove. Nick, of all people, I couldn't believe it. He happened to be the one that understood that the most, and now I felt alone, alone and starting to feel worse.
