Celtic have apparently made a £3.5 million bid for Croatia Zagreb striker Marko Viduka. The Croatian side are said to want £5 million for the Australian international, a price Celtic are unlikely to pay. Celtic desperately need a strong presence up front to support Henrik Larsson, Viduka would be ideal having a great physical side to his game. Michael Mols has also been approached, however the price for the Dutchman would be higher and frankly I feel Viduka is a superior player.

Celtic may play Newcastle United during the winter break. The tie, Peter Beardsley's testimonial would be good warm up match befor eheading back into the SPL programme at the end of January. Celtic are still considering the fixture although some sources believe it may be declined in order to allow players to fully recover from injuries.

Finally for the 5000th occassion Alan Stubbs is said to be unhappy in Scotland. It appears Celtic must resign themselves to losing Stubbs, probably at the end of the season, I would imagine a fee of £5 million would be demanded.
