[A mist surrounds the 17-year old girl on all sides. She turns, her stormcloud-colored eyes taking in the seemingly infinite nothingness surrounding her. A slight breeze whips her shoulder-length, golden hair against her face. She calls out, hoping for some sign of life.]
STORM: Is anyone there?[silence] Hello!? Anyone!?! [silence. She drops to her knees] Where am I? What is this place?
[A unicorn-pegasus steps into view out of the mists. He has the size and build of a Clydesdale, but he also has the color and intangibility of moonlight.]
STORM: [she stands up slowly] W-w-wh---who are you?
DAEDLOUS: You don't remember me. Of the four, I expected that at least you would remember.
STORM: Lord Daedlous . . . You were the one who brought us together when I was little . . . You were the one who told us we had special abilities, abilities that no one else did . . . You said that one day we would have to fight for the side of good . . . You said that we were the only ones who could end the fighting forever . . . I remember you . . .
DAEDLOUS: It is good to see you again little one.
STORM: I can hardly believe this . . . Is it time already?
DAEDLOUS: No, not yet, but it will be soon.
STORM: Then why have you come?
DAEDLOUS: I have someone who is of great importance to you and the others.
[A young elf steps forward from the mists. He has bright blue eyes and long, silvery-black hair. His sharp features and pointed ears are set in pearl-colored skin. He wears a deep green tunic, black pants, black boots, and a black cape; a silver elven longsword hangs at his waist. He bows gracefully before Storm.]
DAEDLOUS: Meet Dercesthai, the guardian of the four.
STORM: [she nods respectfully to Dercesthai] I am honored to meet you. Daedlous, what of the others, why aren't they here?
DAEDLOUS: I can not bring all of you together again yet. I had to come to you, and I must go to the others as well.
STORM: I see . . .
DERCESTHAI: The night wanes short m'lord.
DAEDLOUS: I must be leaving you now . . . Remember little one, you are destined to be the leader of the four . . . your decisions weigh heavy on everyone's shoulders . . . think clearly upon all that you do . . .
[Storm nods solemnly. Daedlous and Dercesthai fade into nothingness before Storm's eyes, leaving her alone in the mists again.]
STORM: I wonder why Daedlous is suddenly so worried over what I do. I haven't seen him in eleven years; why the sudden concern . . .
[The mists suddenly become a dark blood red. Storm turns quickly, trying to see the source of the change. A woman with coal black eyes forms out of the mists. She wears a flowing white dress and white flowers adorn her waist-length black hair. Storm looks at her in alarm, taking a step backwards from the woman. She speaks in a soft, melodic voice.]
TEMÉ: It's been a long time young sorceress.[she tilts her head slightly] Hasn't it Storm?
STORM: What do you want Temé?
TEMÉ: Why child, I missed you . . .
STORM: [shivers involuntarily] You are my enemy. I had hoped you were gone for good.
TEMÉ: [scowls, her voice hardening] No such luck, young sorceress.
STORM: To bad . . . now, what is your business here?
TEMÉ: [her voice becomes soft and musical again] I was wondering what you thought of Daedlous's new knight. He trained him especially to assist the four.
STORM: You know about him?
TEMÉ: Daedlous may be wise, but he can never keep anything from me for long. Just as the four were not a secret for long, neither is that elf.
STORM: Why does it matter to me that you know then?
TEMÉ: [her voice hardens] Know young sorceress, I am not unprepared for an elven warrior.
STORM: I would expect no less of you . . .
[Temé disappears into the mist again. The mist returns to it's natural color. The entire scene fades before Storm's eyes as she awakes to find herself in her bedroom. She sits up, pulling her knees close to her body.]
STORM: What was that... a dream? ... That woman, the four... what on earth... This makes no sense...
